i want a real big truck for messing about in the rear garden.speed is not really needed as the garden isnt that big.

i was thinking maybe a crawler?or something that can be converted.

i like the highlift but doubt i will ever use it.3 speed and all.

dont really like the clod, too much plastic.

maybe the jugg or txt?

any other suggestions?

Juggernaut is very expensive and discontinued.

TXT-1 is always a great choice - a little bit of fiddling and it's great for bashing or light crawling.

How about the new CR-01 ?

Axial has a RTR Scorpion soon to be released that will fill your needs as well.

If you want to stick with Tamiya, the TXT-1 definately fits the "real big truck" part of your requirements. Its mostly likely the best actual monster truck out there. The beauty of the truck is that it can modded to do other task like crawling. It's slow in stock form, slower than a Clod even. The suspension articulation is amazing and its a great model to look at. The build process is one of most fulfilling currently from Tamiya with lots of metal parts. If you want more of a crawler out of the box and can deal with a smaller truck, I'd take a look at the new Land Cruiser when it comes out.

The TXT-1 is the best option out there if you want a big electric monster that doesn't need to do 30 mph.

The wheelie king looks nice, but its aimed more at beginners - small scale and full of plastic.

Axial is a dedicated crawler chassis, designed to be best going dead slow.

Juggernaut 2 looks great, but is bouncy off road and the shell is very fragile.

To be honest, out of all of the choices the good old clod buster is still the most fun truck out of the box for general bashing about. A few small mods make it very capable off road and it will last forever! Its easy to get hop ups and spares for too. Because of its old school design, its more of a challenge to drive than a stock wheelie king or txt-1.

might make an offer on a new jugg 2 in box unbuilt, but to be honest i think he will want too much for it.

probably end up getting a txt from ebay new in box for 200.

probably will end up getting a superclod to if i can get a cheap second hander.

We've got Clods, TXT and a Juggernaut 2. If you haven't got a lot of space in your garden, the Jugg and TXT have a tighter turning circle than a Clod, the Jugg particularly so because its got slightly narrower taller tyres. The TXT is probably the most capable basher of those 3, and you'd have a lot of fun with it even left standard. If you lock the diffs, yes you'll scrabble up most slopes, but it does make the turning much wider.

Happy shopping! :)

The TXT is great! Put two 550 motors on it and are you have enough speed for some serious off-road (without being able to big jumps though)...
