How successful have these re-releases been for Tamiya do you think?

I am wondering how long do you think they will be around for?

I am new to the hobby, and I have already bought a bunch of RC vehicles in my last few months, but eventually, I would love to own most of these re releases. I won't have the money to just buy them all at once, so it is something that will take time and I worry I might not have enough.

You will be fine, as another member said in another post, even if they discontinue certain kits you will eventually get what you want from ebay, it might take a bit of time but I am pretty sure any current re releases will be available in one form or another. You will send yourself crazy counting the days to the next payday to buy another re re kit!

Good luck with your collection!

welcome!

if you're planning on running the re-res don't forget to stock up on spareparts,

'cos even though they re-issued the kits Tamiya didn't offically issue any spareparts.

well, I have only been in the hobby for a few months and I already own 2 High Lifts, a Bruiser, a DF-03 buggy, and Losi Mini Monster Baja.

But, as time goes on, there are more Tamiyas I want. I know for sure I will buy the re release Pajero, a SuperClodbuster, and a Lunchbox. As far as the other re releases go, I think I will probably want them once I finish those, unless I get bored of the hobby.

I hope they will be around for a tleast a couple of years, but i guess that largely depends on how many people are buying them, and if it is worth it for them to continue selling them.

For re-releases that are already released, then that depends on the kit. Some kits seem to have longer production runs than others. For example, the Frog, Lunchbox, Grasshopper and Hornet seem to still be readily available, but not the Top Force and Thundershot. Too early to tell with the Hot Shot, but it's still easy to get too.

I would not expect these re-re kits to climb back to their original values very quickly, but they will start to creep up again once the kits get scarce and harder to find - more quickly if the kit was scarce. Eg, the Top Force is already going for about double its original Hong Kong seller price.

So I guess I better start buying them soon, cause I'm not going to pay crazy prices, if it was available to me much cheaper previously.

If I cant get them, then oh well. The only thing that would frighten me is if they discontinued the High Lift. That better stick around for a LONG time.

I think the Hi-Lift will be around for many years to come, in one form or another, I would expect to see more released with different bodies, kind of like the Tractor Trucks, they have been out for a long time and the only ones that are discontinued are the metallic specials.

But you have the right idea, two Hi-Lifts one shelfer and one runner, wish I could justify that!

Actually, now that I have them, I realize I don't need two.

What happened was my wife got me one for a Christmas gift. I got to built it, but never got to run it. Then I had to leave and go away for a few months because of my job, and I couldn't resist buying another one to play with. The High Lift I have now has aluminum axles, front and rear bumper, plus other stuff. It is nice, and I bash it hard. I will probably never use the other one, which is a **** shame.

i'm thinking about the re-re pajero but my question is about spares availability

are parts very dear for these in the US? i don't see many parts on ebay and tamiya usa seems limited - many are discontinued

what breaks on these if used as runners and what is hard to find

sorry for so many questions but i just want to know if this is a good choice for a runner or not. i want a scale realistic look that the cr-01 may not give me.
