HELP WITH NITRO

i am looking at getting a nitro powered offroad buggy or truck. could somebody please help and tell me if it's possible to get a kit one as all i can find is rtr or full built ones. also which is best to go for?

A good proportion of Tamiya nitros are RTR,some of the "older" TG10 and TGX based kits are "kits" in the true sense but they are some what thin on the ground these days,most companies seem to be doing nitros as RTR these days.

HPI does the Savage 25 as a kit as well as a couple of others in the range.

Tamiya have the Nitro Thunder as a RTR and the Nitro Force as a kit,bear in mind though that by the time you have purchased radio gear the cost of a kit usually works out more than the RTR's.

I recently got a Tamiya TNX which is complete with just about everything except AA batteries for the radio gear and a 7.2 nicad (which I had already)for the started unit for £292 from Fusion Hobbies.

I had considered the Nitro Thunder as well but preffered the monster truck as oppossed to a buggy as it was only £60 or so more expensive and is bigger and more impressive looking!

Tamiya has a new kit, the Nitro Force (# 44044), which is basically a kit version of the RTR Nitro Thunder. Have a look at:

I have to say that I'm very tempted (depending on the retail price; Tower Hobbies doesn't have it listed yet, but the Nitro Thunder is $349, so should be less than that)...

If you like blinding speed, real engine sound, the smell of burning nitro in the morning, 45 min run time, then nitro is a waste of time, in big chunks!
