I am currently building a Blackfoot Extreme powered by a Mamba Max 7700 :D

Of the many issues that I am trying to overcome, one is that there is no stock or aftermarket wheelie bar option for this truck. I have worked out that the Wild Willy wheelie bar fits and i have modded this with some threaded M5 bar to fit some frog/grasshopper/hornet front wheels to it.

I am trying to work out how far out from the gearbox to mount the bar to limit front upwards travel, and currently have mocked it up at 23mm.

and this achieves this angle:

as I don't have access to a LHS at the mo can anybody tell me what angle stock wheelie bars limit t/e maxxs or savages so that I know what I should be aiming for?

That's one heck of a monster wheelie bar! Love it :D

I experimented using a small rubber tyred r/c aeroplane wheel on my WW2's wheely bar instead of the standard hard plastic thing. It rolls far better now.

how does the gear box handel that power?

Ever see the size of the gears in these?. I have heard of people busting the (diff) bearing supports out of the gearbox housing, without stripping the gears.

The gears are pretty much indestructible, but the diff is another story entirely. They can break with 14.4v and 550 motors if abused, but with brushless power the spider just destroys itself, leaving the bevels floating free.

The only cure is a custom built diff from rcdaggerweb. That is one of the many issues that I think I have resolved (until beta testing starts! lol).

Another problem is that the Masher 2000s will balloon to more than twice their size at such high rpm, and I'm not sure even taping them with glass fibre re-inforced tape will tame them, but if I'm going to break the 50mph barrier with a Blackfoot I will just have to work a way round this and a few other problems. :P
