Yep, latest forecast is cloudy but dry, fingers crossed. I'll be there with my:

Aeromax and trailer,

Mini,

Mad Armour nitro truck,

MRC 1/6 scale truck,

RC18t

Gecko crawler,

RS turbo bodied Top-force evo hybrid.

All tested and running tonight, which means none of them will run tomorrow!

See you all in the morning.

Cheers.

Rich.

It's now 8:57 in South Wales and dry but windy...

Just trying to sort little mister out with Breakfast then off we go! (so anywhere from 10 mins to an hour by the time he finishes)

Posted

Boxes all packed, will leave in 10 mins or so...

I decided to pack up pretty much everything that runs, so we'll have a fun-filled day today!

Had a great time. It was fantastic to meet you all and be made so welcome ;) .

I never knew something so small could go so fast and should a Hotshot be that quick :D .

Glad to hear that you have got you bits for you car Matt. We also broke something, one of those plastic boxes when we got home!

Just looking forward to the pics and vids!

All home safely at last. We stopped for a nice meal, then visited the parents.

It was a superb day! Big thanks to all who went along and it was lovely to meet new people.

Unusually for me, my breakage list is actually nothing! Will wonders never cease? That's even after 2 full runs with the E-Maxx flat out and ending up upside down on several occasions.

Lovely spot for the Mini's and other low clearance vehicles. Nice opposite to Ham Hill (off-road really).

Anyway, I'm sure Rich (richytanimal) will get the videos on soon. Can't wai to see if the E-Maxx looks as mental on tape as it feels to drive.

See you all at the next one!

Hi all, thanks to everyone for a wicked day, had a great time rolling the MAd Armour over all the time! Only had one breakage and that was my daughters RC18t steering servo screw disappearing. Even my Aeromax seems to have survived intact after pulling a bike around, hopefully Mad Ax will get the vid of that sorted soon.

I am putting the vid footage on the pc now, should be edited and up sometime later in the week hopefully.

See you all at the next one.

Cheers.

Rich.

Right then, Pictures are up now.

After the fun and mayhem at Bristol, we need to plan the next bash!

Doesn't have to be too soon, but maybe plan ahead again and see what people think.

As a thought, anyone interested in visiting South Wales? I often bash at Ogmore (Google maps link - The whole area is the car park and bashing spots) quite near to Bridgend

Plus points:

Lovely sand - My first real E-Maxx test was here

Great rocks for crawling (See the Video's in my showroom of the Clods crawling) EDIT: Lost the video's from TC - Can't find them to re-upload yet...

Grass areas for bashing (including humps)

Tarmac (just watch for cars) - There is some gravel though on the tarmac

Views and fresh air (plus the sea for those brave loonies)

Toilets on hand

Ice cream vans and burger vans

Bad points:

Can get busy on hot days (never caused a problem for me, but crowds gather to watch)

They have started charging for parking (couple of quid for the whole day)

The Severn Bridge tolls (now 5.30 to get into Wales, but free to flee)

Long journeys for a lot of you guys and gals

Anyway, it's just a thought. Also up for input from others on sites they recommend

Thanks to all for a great days bashing, and I only managed to break two cars !!

Sorry I haven't posted earlier, but logged on sunday evening to discover the biggest nastiest highjacking trojan virus was onboard !!!! has taken me till now to get pc runnin again

Steve - that Emaxx was "wicked". It's all your fault and yes, i've already been looking at them on ebay.......... might have to sell some other toys to fund it though.

Great day out and can't wait for the next. If I can make it a beach bash sounds good to me.

All in all, thanks to everyone for a great day and was good to meet some faces.

Off to work on a BL holiday buggy...... :(

Before you grab an E-Maxx (avoid the previous generation one as it is more fragile) take a peek on Traxxas.com

I'm seiously considering the Traxxas Slash as my next vehicle, and they are releasing an E-Revo! Basically all the plus points of the Revo (better than the Maxx for racing) but 16.8v electric!

Slightly annoyed at Traxxas really. It's been the hope by loads of Traxxas enthusiasts that an E-Revo would arrive, but most of them bought the E-Maxx instead as Traxxas kept saying that no E-Revo was on the cards.

Well, I still love my E-Maxx so happy to stay with it :D

Steve

p.s. Probably selling my Top Force and a few smaller scale ones next and might have to get an E-Rev to join the E-Maxx and hopefully a Slash :P

on the subject of a beach bash, how about W-S-M or Sand Bay, long flat beaches, pleanty of dunes in the right areas,

i'd be up for that.

great pics guys and i have to agree with lemming, saw the e-revo and imaediatey thought of whether selling a kidney woulkd be enough to get one.

I'm up for anywhere as long as it's not too far.

What's the rock crawling like at those beaches? The last meet had nothing really for the rock crawling / serious offroad vehicles, so we need to ensure the next one has that (even if on-road suffers slightly - we can switch every other venue if needed).

Seriously looking at my old Transformer collection to see what will raise enough cash to allow me an E-Revo without annoying the wife!

My experience of W-S-M area is it's great for flat beaches (Brean is superb) but it's all about the sand, and nothing much else to play with. I may be wrong tho as I've never actually bashed there

I'd be happy to trundle over to Wales for the next meet. And yes, it will have to be sometime soon!
