Who can identify this car?

Hey gang,

Got this car the other day for practically nothing. I thought at first, it was an Optima with the gold Option House parts, but it is not. The chassis is one piece, gold annodized aluminum. the chain/ belt guards are hard, transparent plastic. This is not the Racer Beagle, one of the more well known Optima clones. I do not know.....I can not find any markings anywhere on this thing.

looks to me like a kyosho optima with some hop ups and truck body mounts

Doesn't look like an Optima, looks as if the suspension arms are wrong as well as the funky steering and suspension links???? Maybe another Optima clone???

Hey Woober,

Are you sure that is not a Racer Beagle? I know the Racer Beagle is an exact copy of the Optima. I did not think there was another clone. Is the gold chassis one solid piece or multiple parts? About the only good thing I can say is that the top deck looks like an aftermarket one produced by JG some time back. Any markings on the motor?

Looks a bit like a Javelin with gold plate too.

Its definitely NOT a Kyosho. It has a passing resemblance to an Optima/Javelin/Salute chassis. Its NOT a Beagle as that is an almost perfect clone of the Kyosho. Hotshot style bumper fixing is different. Looks like it was built as cheap as possible, probably originated in China.

Looks like a Baja Growler (no... really!) made by Bluebird. Made in Taiwan. I'll dig mine out tomorrow and post a pic or two.

Mine is nib but missing the speed contoller. Do you have a complete chassis or just the front end? I might be interested in buying it off you just for the speedo if it is in good condition.
