I got the kits in today. A Dirt Thrasher and a Baja King. Ok, they are not mine, they are my kids'. I will enjoy building them with the tots though. It has been 20 years since I built a Tamiya. Looking forward to it. Anything I should watch out for?

The thing that caught me out doing a modern kit after not far off 20 years, was the softer plastic they're made from now is much easier to strip - seems to vary a lot too, there's not much resistance between tight and overtight, far less than you might think, and far less than there used to be!

Just be careful when you paint the rear wing on the Baja King - it's upside down in the mould relative to the body, so you have to make sure you're really painting the underside of the wing...

Most importantly, make sure you (oops, I mean your kids) have fun [:D]

Got them both built. My son was running the Dirt Thrasher and that thing is quick outta the box!! Anyway, he hit a curb and bent the "shaft" that goes between the front and back tranmissions. It now makes a clicking noise. Does anyone make a heavy duty dhaft similar to the Baja King? Thanks!!
