Mad Cap Spur Gear Issues

Hello,

Does anybody know where to find a replacement spur gear for a Madcap, I'm trying to custom restore a truly battered thing - and the spur gear is holding me back. I have had a look at ebay but not sure what the part number is or whether any of the other gears on there will fit. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a new set of Super Astute gears,but ihave no idea if the work for the Mad cap. If somebody knows if they will works i can send them to you cheap.

No the Super Astute spur gear will not work. That spur gear is meant for the sliper clutch from the TTC drive train. If you find a spur gear from the Monster Racer, King Cab, or an Astute they will work.

Thanks anyway bakaguyjean. I have tried looking for king cab and astute etc spur gears but i can never find any. this is a real pain in the *******!

I will start to put some pictures up soon as the car is a complete mess - the previouse owner has screwed perspex to the bottom of the chasis to fix the cracks - have designed a new aluminium chasis just waiting to have it cut along with some other parts. Renovating a house though at the mo so that is taking priority but i need all the parts ready.

any further help much appreciated.

The Part you need is 50377 Astute Plastic Gear Set, good luck though in finding one, they are near impossible to find. I've only had one come in to stock in the last 6-8 months and that sold here:

You could also back in the day, order them as a 7 digit part number (9335068 or 9335077), but I haven't seen any like that for 3 years.

Thanks for the numbers - this is the problem i have been having and they seem to be worth more than the car! If i can't find one i may change the rear transmision parts to something easier to get hold of.

I have a bag of madcap parts for a restoration.. (although I dont know if I will ever get arount to it).

I will look to see if there are any dupes and you can have them, maybe swapping some of your spares for mine we can get them both working

Yes if you have one i would be up for that - not sure what bits i've got but i'll have a look.

Matt and Qatmix, send me your WANTED lists. I have a spare spur for sure as you could only use one at a time. In fact the King Cab uses only the 77T and the 70T is "discarded", so if you find someone with a KC runner, see if they have the other spur in their spares box.

ANYWAY, I have a good size collection of MadCap parts in both USED and NEW condition, so let me know what you want/need. No decals/bodies, some tires and some wheels.

That sounds great! at the moment the main thing is the spur gear but as i am building a new alu chasis i'm sure i'll find things that don't fit, or i break trying to make them fit. I too have a few items if you are interested - off the top of my head they are mainly fire dragon bits , madcap bits tl01 bits and some old schumacher cat bits will also have a number of bits left over from the madcap once i have customised it.
