Hi

im putting together a monster mini using the m03 chassis, and wild dagger suspension parts.

I have run into a problem with the wheels rubbing on the body at full lock. has anybody got any ideas on wheels / tyres that will maybe work better.

Thanks

Jason

You don't say what wheels and tires you are using at the moment, so it's a bit difficult to advise.

However, some wheel wideners would do the trick, or failing that you can always attck the body with a craft knife to accommodate the wheels.

Hi,

I am using wild dagger wheels and tyres.

not so keen on cutting the body as it will ruin the look of the car, I have sorted everything else (which has taken a while) and car runs well without the body. I think spacers may ruin the dynamics of the car as it has a short wheel base it would become wider than it is long.

whild dagger rims are 2.2 i think, so maybe try some 1.9s???? other then that, what does it look like if u raise the bdy up a little? snake

I have changed the front mounts to longer ones from double blaze and its raised as high as I can get it. it is just catching probably about 4 or 5 mm.

having had a look around what do you think about lunbox/ pumpkin tyres, they seem to be wider but smaller diameter

or another thought is that if that chassis is RWD then you can fit small wheels at the front.

FWD so not an option unfortunatley, however it is great to see it scrambling over everything like a little terrior

ok lunchbox tyres fit however they do not have the same grip as the twin detonators so lots of scrabling around.

Thinking of adding some weights any thoughts???

or back to my original question any ideas on wheels and tyres, I think pumpkin/lunchbox scale is the way to go

Wild Willy 2 wheels are lunchbox / pumpkin size. I think the tyres are the same as the Pumpkin ones you already have, however you have squeazed your tyres over 2.2 rims by the look of it, which might be stretching them and affecting the level of grip. You could try WW2 wheels to see if they work - they are hex drive so will fit your chassis.

There isn't much else out there in Lunchbox size, so unless you go down to 1.9 wheels with scale tyres you're a bit stuck.

You could try getting some very grippy 2.2 tyres and cutting them down to fit on WW2 wheels. It's a bit more work!

Thanks for your suggestions guys,

Already have washers on axles, and spacers may make it to wide.

I may have to look into the wild willy 2 wheels, but seen some cool wheels and tyres on the brushless lunchbox thread that seem to be the same size.

I also have some new shox on the way, that are longer, so may solve the problem, I will keep you posted
