Hi all, i have 3 modified motors two are in use at the moment but i know nothing about them can anyone give me anymore info, to be honest i just want to know which would be the fastest? I have the vega in my TT01 for the road and i have just fitted the Orion Peak to my TB01 but i think it should be the other way round? am i correct in thinking the Orion Peak is a much better motor?

Also what sort of performance would i expect to get for the Orion Core Modified, would this be worth a go in the TT01 or the TB01?...

Thanks in advance...

My order from fastest to slowest would be

- Orion Core

- Element

- Vega flux

Personally I would put the Vega flux in the TB01 for rallying and the Element in the TT01, neither of those cars are really upto a 10 turn as its too much for scale rallying and the TT01 isnt really upto it.

The Core Touring being a 10 turn motor is way too fast for the cars you have, the only one that would have any chance of gearing properly is the TB01, even in that you want the biggest spur gear and smallest pinion you can find to stand any chance of not overheating it. The other cars will just damage the motor as you won't be able to fit a pinion anywhere near the ratio you need to be able to run that motor without cooking it and destroying it very quickly. Even if you run it you will need to rebuild it every few runs.

The others are 19 turn motors, so a good balance of speed and power for a large performance increase over the kit motors. They are basically the same with similar performance, although the Orion V2 endbell means the motor lasts a lot longer before needing a rebuild, but you do need a powerful soldering iron to get the wires on the brush holders.

Cheers guys, Yeah the element took some soldering! i have got a pretty good iron though so it wasn't too bad. I will change the two motor around then, the Element in the TT01 which has some decent hopups and the Flux in the TB01 which has the adjustable mount which made life much easier!

So the Orion Core is way too fast hummmm i may have to sell that or swap for another more sensible motor. As far as am aware this is a ex race motor and was fully rebuilt when i got it last year and its never been used? so anyone?

orrrr I really want to give the Orion Core a go and just see how quick it could be :) lol

Just make sure your esc can take it, otherwise you might end with a rather expensive test :L

Hey guys could anyone tell me roughly how much the Team Orion Core Modified 10 x 3 Motor is worth? i think i am going to stick it on ebay as i have a few bits to sell. or maybe stick it in the trades/sales bit in here first.

also if anyone is intrested drop me a pm...

The motor was used a little last year for racing by the guy i got it from. He did all the business with it before he sold it so its like new and i have never used it as i dont have an ESC that can power the thing and i need a new motor for my new found drifting addiction lol

well the Vega Flux is the fastest its office lol well on my car anyway i really would have thought the element to be the quickest?.. anyway doesn't matter the element is going in my TB01

Most people have summed things up pretty nicely but.. about that Orion Core 10x3.. it's a very nice motor, but don't run it with those bullet connectors. Don't even consider it, it's just a waste with energy really.. in fact, I'd say don't use any motor at all with those connectors.

Edit: and the ones on the motor itself... solder it. Don't use those things you have on the picture.
