I just wanted to share this with you guys.

I got a lunchbox a month ago and I hated the friction shocks.

So, I have decided to upgrade the shock to some CVA.

what was availiable on ebay was some falcon shocks (front and rear) so I went ahead and got them.

After the installation, it is working great.

since the rear shock is long, the rear part movement is somewhat minimized and the noise is gone. additionally, i don't think I would need the 3rd shock mod.

also, the front shock is also longer than what is recommended for upgrade, which makes them very tight shock in the front as well.

it handles better and holds the willy better.

I just wanted to share it with everyone.

Some things you just don't want to know about :)

The front shocks are the right size but like you said the rears are a bit long. one think I noticed about CVA were that the springs were too stiff. A nice mod are the CRP collars for those shock which come with softer springs.

they are 103mm.

it's look agressive and has no sound.

one of the issue I ran into was roll-over.

when I make steep turns as I accelerate, it would roll.

I think it rolls over since the front shocks are relatively shorter than the rear.

I fitted some CVAs to my Lunchbox. I couldn't get hold of any MB ones so they came from an old Manta Ray and the springs were shot so I used the only springs I had spare which were the original Lunchbox ones. It works at the back and I agree, I don't need to fit a third shock now but the front was a disaster.

I have since gone back to friction shock at the front but I have used an old plastic bush as a spacer to lower the front. The bush sits at the top of the metal rod. i.e put it on the rod then put rod through chasis and down into the shock. I know some people use the rubber tubing for this but I found one bush gives just the right amount of "lowering". I'm convinced the steering is better now.

Rear Falcon Shock are Great for stiff movement on the back.

However, it rolls when shorter shocks are attached on the front.

I am thinking about putting the front one with higher one also.

but, they are bit hard to come by.

If I get them I will keep you all posted.

I recenty have fitted my pumpkin with the 3rd shock, using the front short shock from a falcon, after a quick search, I found this thread!

This makes the rear suspension much stiffer even with the pogo sticks.

I have no idea about the above quote, not had a proper run yet and a hope it will wheelie better, but with the 18T clash motor, I don't think it has enough torque!

Hi people,

Last night I fitted the rear shocks from the Falcon to the rear of my pumpkin, i did try one on the front first but it was too long and threw the camber right out!, as has been said in this thread they are also a touch too long for the rear.

I have not run it yet, so can't comment on that but I still have the pogo sticks on the front so it should be interesting anyway!!
