Hahaha. :D You got me. I am just looking at the pics.

Thanks.

BTW. If it is positive offset, it makes the track width wider. right?

:D

Absolutely no idea on the offset 'science' I'm afraid, although GMade do tend to put the hex towards the inside/back face of the wheel, thus making the truck wider.

If you need 'really' wide, get some of their Mudrocks instead, and narrow them - this pushes the tyre centre-line away from the axles; Link

Because of the way they're made, these new rims don't appear as simple to narrow, so if you need a wide track, go for either the Mudrocks or Mudrock Challengers

Sorry to be incredibly thick here, but I can't spot the answer elsewhere or on the Junfac website. Will these (or the other 2.2 beadlocks they sell) fit straight onto GMade G1/Spider axles? I presume they will?

No, haven't bought the chassis yet, still saving this month... :D

Hey Suze

I don't think they will, these wheels have a 12mm hex (Standard size for TLT, Hi Lift etc) but the GMade axles take 14mm hexes, and come with their own special hex adaptors (driveshafts are oval)

Edit:

Just checked what I wrote about building the Spider, and that came with 12 and 14mm hexes, so you could be in luck...

You'll need some sort of different hex or adaptor as the hexes which come with the Gmade Spider axles have 14mm and 17mm adaptors and these are for a 12mm hex. The Gmade Spider wheels that come with the kit (if you're buying the full Spider chassis kit) are enormous. The Spider is a 1/8th kit. It's one huge beast ;-) These (or any) 2.2 wheel/tyre combos would look ridiculously small on the Gmade Spider axles as they were made for 1/10th Tamiys F350 or Axial AX10 type kits. Don't know if that helps.

I don't want to pinch this topic, but whilst on the subject, if I get a GMade G1 or Spider (which I think both come with the same wheels), and they have 14mm hexes, what options do I have for alternative wheels (preferably beadlocks of some kind)? Can't have these pretty wheels then; they're a bit tiddley! It'd be good to know before purchase; cheers guys.

You can get axle adaptors from GMade too; Wheel Wideners

For GMade axles, you need the 'B' type (oval slot axle hole)

They also sell 14mm-23mm slide-over adaptors - For Proline 23mm hexes (like Moab XL rims)

Here you can see the GMade hex (black bit) then the 14-23mm adaptor

Those nice people at Junfac have just sent me a set with my latest order.

Can't test them properly at the minuite as I've no spare tyres, but looking at the critical bits such as clamping distances, bead depth and width etc. they're practically the same as the Mudrocks that preceeded them, so there's no reason at all that they should not perform equally as well.

Hole pitch on the bead rings is the same too, so the original Mudrock aluminium rings will fit as well!

The main differences are the one piece wheel design, the inclusion of an aluminium lock ring, and the aluminium centre cap :D

Junfac also sell coloured rings/caps - Link to Junfac Site

Each wheel consists of a one piece centre section

img169_03052008175334_1.jpg

Two black plastic beadlock rings, one alu one (can be used instead of a plastic one) and an alu centre cap

img169_03052008175334_2.jpg

Fixing screws are stainless socket screws - M2.5 for the centre cap, M3 button heads for the beadlock rings

Length for both is 10mm

img169_03052008175334_4.jpg

Standard 12mm hex fitting used

img169_03052008175334_3.jpg

Hex is approx 9mm inset from inner bead (without lock ring in place)

img169_03052008175334_5.jpg

Comparison with Mudrocks

img169_03052008175334_6.jpg

Gap between bead rings is 1.25mm

img169_03052008175406_1.jpg

The 'plate' with the hex molded in to it is pretty much central in the rim - this will make narrowing the rim pretty difficult, although not impossible.

img169_03052008175406_2.jpg

Built up 'Full Aluminium' - Rear ring is still plastic

img169_03052008175406_3.jpg

The 'Stealth' Option

img169_03052008175406_5.jpg

img169_03052008175406_6.jpg

You can make two of either 'style' from one set of wheels

saw these on eBay as well.

I just bought some bead locks and MOABS for my F350 that is getting a JunFac conversion.

I was going to get these, but went with some Axial Bead Locks!

I should have gotten these, now that I think about it! :D

I've just fitted a set of self-narrowed Mudlocks to my F350, I also demeled around where the lock faces against to allow for the nut to on all the way. It's a real shame that they built this way IMO.

It's easier to grind the stock hexes down a bit, or use thinner ones

They look really nice with the aluminum ring and center cap on. What tires would you be choosing? I am already thinking of pro-line Flat irons with this wheels for my dagger.

No idea, they were kinda 'unplanned' ;)

As yet I don't even have the truck sorted, let alone the details
