And it's olny a matter of time until they make a rock crawler. I definetly want to get the slash and put a big ol brushless system in it. I'm not to keen on the E-Revo though, they could have made it so much better.

i think traxxas is on to something that tamiya could learn from: rtr kits should come with some of the best upgrades as standard equipment. oil shocks, bearings, esc, and in this case sealed electronics. my point is this: just because somebody wants an rtr does not mean that they want to forego nice options. traxxas has clued in to this and has been selling some nice cars lately. the brushless / watertight option is a new market that they are exploiting quite well it looks like.

This probably the first Traxxas I actually like the look of, I generally stay away from RTR but this just might suck me in, will have to see one live at the LHS first :)

Problem is I am just soo addicted to Tamiya at the moment, the only non Tamiya item on my radar currently is the HPI Baja 5b SS, but soo much $$$

It doesn't look a 1/10th scale... so what scale is it? :) It certainly looks very nice, more scale than tamiya's F150 Baja truck, I like the things that mostly come as hop-up parts for tamiya cars (ball bearings, adjustable turnbuckles) and somehow it seems that it is more suited and refined for offroad than most tamiya cars.

And I haven't seen a price tag anywhere, but I think that even if they ask a ridiculous amount of money it would still be worth getting one, or at least putting it on the list of cars you still want to run someday :)

Edit: Just looked some more on their site, it is a 1/10 scale (as the information about the electronics already suggested a bit)... Although it's wheelbase is 13.2 inch/33.5cm, Which isn't really 1/10 anymore...

i think as i stated before that its a very attractive option that should be very capable unlike the tamiya F150 scale trucks that are to narrow for there own good to be honest.

Only think Im lacking is a price. anyone???

Apparently the street price will be under US$200.

That's cheap...

On a slightly different note does anybody make a convincing electric rally car, (Ignoring TA02 etc) be it in kit form or RTR?

Already been discussed.

Slightly different angle here Terry if that's ok? What I'm saying is Traxxas are appliying innovation and design to a comprehensive well priced product(s) AND giving us the whole video thingy. It just took me back to beatties looking at a video from Mr Tamiya and a deep longing for something I had just walked past on a shelf!

by the way ryan, did you ever get that emaxx rolling?

Got my misses to push it round the lounge whilst I made "Brum Brum" noises :) Then slung it on ebay...

If the street price, RTR, will be under $200 it would be extremely low, Unless there are hidden weaknesses and a few crucial bad points in the car...

And Ryan, I don't know any car still for sale that makes a good rally car straight out of the box... It's either low-to-the-ground-onroad or buggies...

Well, it is Traxxas... they're kinda like Microsoft. Wait a version or two, and it will be all sorted out.

Too bad they don't sell kits anymore. I have zero interest in this as a $200 RTR, but a $120-150 kit I'd be all over.

Kyosho did the PureTen EP series but they don't seem to be available still...

me being a big fan of traxxas i really like the look of it and if it does sell for that much witch i dowt it will it will be one of traxxas cheapest rc's.

still a huge fan of tamiya thought more than traxxas. even thought i and owned t-maxxs and revos. they all have ther different uses.

i knock the badword out of my revo and it just keeps on giving more. they are one hard truck to crack except if you might just happen to plant it into a huge gutter

2 times at w.o.t. then you might need a new front end lol

Our club is starting a spec racing class for the Slash (no modifications) and I probably won't be able to resist. This may be my first non-Tamiya R/C! I love the scale looks and just wish it came as a kit. I guess I'll just take it all apart to see how it all works and then put it back together again. :)
