What I am hoping to bring:

- Traxxas Bandit

- GV Mammoth (just trying to fix the clutch!)

- Boomerang (with a winger body)

- Luchbox

- Gravel Hound (on road only)

- Hilux Monster Racer (if I have the space)

And the good Lady has:

- Blackfoot Extreme

- Beetle M-04L

- Baja Champ (it just loves abuse)

- TamTech-Gear Hotshot

- HPI MT2

Many batteries and chargers to add to that.

The 2 nitros can be to much of a pain so might give them a miss and I am going to get some Cake thing of some sort!

We are aiming for between 10 and 11 (probably 11 by the time the monster is sorted, and baby Evan too  )

Audi is back on Monday, so limited on space in the Fester. I'll probably head to the bottom left of the car park initially (South Western corner on the map). Go in, follow the road (keep left) and you'll head to a big space (invisible roundabout). I'm hoping to turn left there and be along the edge facing the sea. Bright red Fiesta CK02 reg. Failing that, I'll pull off onto the grass to the left of the "roundabout" (on a slight bank)

Definitely bringing:

E-Maxx (of course)

Brushless Top Force (quick once over and might work)

Dyna Storm (cable tied together)

Ferrari 250 GTO

TLT1

5 nicd batteries

10 nimh batteries

2 chargers

Possibly:

FF01 Brushless Mitsubishi FTO (body needs rear wheel-arches marked and cut, plus painting and wing attached)

M03 Mini

M03L BMW Mini

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you all there.

Steve

p.s. Feel free to PM me for my mobile number as a central contact...

We will be in a "Premium Beige" otherwise known as "Galaxy Grey" 57 plate Civic.

Just spent the last 3 hours fitting (another Badger bodge) Tamiya wheels and tyres as I thought it best to give the bandit a run out with the new packs and it shredded the Traxxas tyres :huh:B) ! (never seen that before, must try harder)

See you all tomorrow.

Sorry we can't come; doing packing today 'cus we're off on holiday to the USA (classic Mini show), and have a million and one things to do. Hope you have a cracking good time at the different venue

P.S. Yes I've packed one of my Minis in my suitcase for the r/c racing there!

That was fun!!!

Got there a 10:45 and left at 6:30. We did Ogmore, food, Merthyr Mawr then back to Ogmore.

Got some video including Ryck's lovely support truck, Matt and Karen's nitro beastie and varous others as well. Video will probably appear next weekend when I get time to edit it. As normal I got no footage of mine running, but at least the Dyna Storm, Top Force and 250 GTO got a run.

Thanks to everyone who was there, and lovely to meet Ryck and family (the wife adores the Landy).

Only broke 1 thing, didn't realise until I got home. Seem to have melted a cell on one of the E-Maxx packs. Quite impressively melted too!

Will catch up later

All the best

Was a top day - we seemed to bonus on the weather, too - it was a bit squally in the morning but soon brightened up.

I had a pretty special day in terms of breakages:

Dark Impact rear spoiler mounts popped out and spoiler bent, giving it a very "Top Force" look! Might be able to bodge it back as it's only a basher

TXT driveshaft dropped a link - not sure if I have enough bits to fix it or if I'll have to buy a new one

TA01 Jeep Scaler had pretty poor ground clearance and suffered terribly from the wheels binding against the arches. After one battery pack the binding and the deep sand was enough to melt the brushes in the motor, and I lost all power. Once I've cleaned out the sand I'll be experimenting with my other TA01 scaler to see if it'll fit nicely over Manta Ray shock towers.

also decided my Schumacher either needs more power, or needs to be sold - it's a fantastic stadium truck basher, but is too heavy for the 19t single that it has right now...

Cheers for a great bash guys, was good to put some faces to names.

We gave the cars an initial check over today, seems all there tho we thing the landy's rear springs have finally had it. As for me the only other issue is the rear left shock on the highlift has unscrewed itself so I have lost one of the internal springs, might be a chance to look at the oil shocks :L

@Mad Ax, - I have a 19 turn double here new that arrived in my TLT which might give you more ommph, Also lookin at My TA01 bowler I doubt it is going to make it as a decent sand off roader with the clearance and the stroke on the suspension.

@Lemming, I look forward to the video and what you have managed to capture, I have added my pictures already to the showroom, there are some pretty good ones.

Cheers

What an excellent way to spend my birthday ;) !!! Good to meet some new faces.

Just got back in after going to Thorpe Park for the day. Stealth does 0-80mph in 2 secs, could I fit that motor in my Bandit and what tyres could I use :P ?

Still have not had the chance to take proper look at mine and Karans cars but the list of damage for ours on the day is as follows:-

Mammoth, bent alloy shock tower (should just bend back) and found the air filter!

Bandit, bold Tyres after 1 and a bit packs!

Baja Champ, just full of sand.

Lunchbox ,mystery motor/Esc problem (probably more wet sand somewhere)

Beetle, lost a wing mirror.

Not too bad. Really, really sorry to hear about all the breakages (explosions in some cases) that everyone suffered.

Just got to start the cleaning process now, well tomorrow!

Take care and we must have another bash at Ogmore, its got every surface you could want.

Looking forward to the next bash, wherever it may be.

ATB Matt

Ps. forgot to add, Lemming and Lady Lemming, your Son is FANTASTIC!

I think sometimes it sends the mail as an attachment rather than a message body - did the same thing on mine but the message was in the attachment. Maybe your email thingie cut the attachment out?

I finally got around to stripping the Jeep this weekend. I vacuumed up over an inch of sand in my ancient Dyson, and washed much more down the plug'ole as each component went into the sink for a rinse.

Ooh, and this morning I finally got around to getting the TXT and the Schumacher out of the back of the car and back onto the shelves where they belong ;)

Still not cleaned anything (where is the embaressed smiley?)

Then again, I have got the FTO shell painted at last! Prototype is definitely close to the final project.

Forum: Mitsubishi Fto 10th Scale Bodyshell

Showroom: Project FTO - Stage 4 - Prototype evaluation

Plus Vapextech (Paul) has agreed to replace my blown 8.4v 4400mah pack for 10. Very impressed as they are 6 months+ old and cost 35 normally

Have fun all

Cider... Mmmmmmm ;)

Guessing it might be how hot the pack was (fresh from charge) when I ran it. Not had a problem before, but then again I normally charge it up, head out, then run it hard so it has cooled a bit. Either that or it objected to being soaked in the sea (although the other packs were all fine and no water got past the protective bags.

New one arrived today so I have some soldering to do. Got to replace the plugs with Traxxas ones now

Lets not start a cider debate but for what it's worth, Mendip Magic or any Thatchers is good for me (not to much in my advanced years :( ).

That's a sort of result, only costing you 10; still feel guilty about encouraging you bash that soon after a charge. Good luck with the soldering, it's and old skill that I am re-learning, dam this hobby (addiction?)!!!!

Now I got everything sorted when is the next one and where.

Love the videos Steve! Nice to see some new cars there.

The only plus point of me unfortunately not being able to make it, is that I don't have to dig the sand out of my gears and driveshafts like you lot do! Hahaha

In fact my Schlesser gearbox had no sand in it at all, and that wasnt for want of trying :L Was pretty pleased about that tho the bowler was caked after only the short run it did, :@ tub chassis

sounds and looks like you guys had a blast, myself and some clumbermeets crew might have to make an effort to make it down you to your next bash.

The more the merrier!

Glad people liked the vids as well.

Only sand in my TLT, but that's minor. The rest actually survived the day relatively clean and well!

Just an update, here is the battery that melted...
