Hi all . ;)

This is my first post . just joined , but thought i could help here . :P

I to have a DT-02 sand viper and have just changed up to a 23t sports tuned , big difference.

are you using the ESC101BK . if so i believe a 23t is all that you can go up to , although im sure the 23t BZ are ok

a little more rpm than the sport tuned

you're right the 101 will take a 23t motor, but go for the TZ as the rpm is higher.

my viper is mad quick with the TZ in, although i'd like to try the 19tooth pinnion to see if its quicker.

as well as the motor, i can recomend the ball diff ( a must with a hotter motor) and the df03 shock set.

enjoy

I have a Sand Viper as well and I'm fitting a Sport Tuned to it. It's a great all-around cheap motor and a great improvement over the stock can.

It's been a matter of debate over the years (depending on your country) but the Sport Tuned is a 27T motor, not 23T. Apparently there used to be a 23T version in some markets, but not for years now. I just yesterday received a reply from Tamiya America regarding this very question and they confirmed that it is 27T.
