How do any local members fancy an off road meet/bash in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. There are some great woods with a bit of everything, except deep wet mud. We are planning on Saturday the 17th May so plenty of time to arrange. The terrain is suitable for off road trucks but not ideal for hornet/ grasshopper type cars.

There will be a few High lifts/hiluxes along with pumpkins and lunchboxes

If i get chance ill get my Pajero up and running again

if interested get in touch, thanks

Hi, A well powered hot shot shoud be ok, there is a nice grass area, plus a gravel area that should suit it. The cars that we are taking will be a pumpkin, lunchbox and a couple of landy highlifts, think caddy shack will have a his hilux's with him

Hi Mark

Yea still on (unless the weather takes a turn for the worse) You want "Comon lane" in Kenilworth Planning on getting there around 130. There is some parking at the bottom opposite the industrial estate, failing that you can use the 1st unit on the ind.est. (BJT BINDERS) ITS NO LONGER TRADING, Or just a bit further up the hill there is a nice wide side road, Ill probably be parking there

As for stuff, You will be parked next to the woods, so it will be a case of cross the road and you are in the woods, It all depends on how far we go in if you want to carry your stuff, but I normally stay close to the car, or carry batteris in my pocket if we go stomping

stripped the Hotshot last night to find out what gave up - the centre propshaft had come loose on the spoke shaft after all that !! both gearboxes are fine so may leave them as is for now. Gave me a chance to do some cleaning though.......

Hi Folks,

I can't make this weekend coming (my lads B'day party so lots of jelly and ice cream B) ) but I'm up for the 14th. Hotshot is now rebuilt (including both gearboxes !) with upgraded period propshaft and I have been experimenting with some different wheels and tyres which may be more suited to the forest bashing and hill climbing.......should be fun (might even be a tad quicker.. :D

Hi Caddy,

Thanks for that, Party was gooood !

Re the Hotshot I had some trouble with leaves gettin stuck under the car last time so these might do the trick ?!!!! Ground clearnace is around 60mm now !!!!!! he he he yet to run it but should be unstoppable - cant wait for some hill climbing......

Re Lancia Light pods sounds great. I've been talking to a guy at work who's doing some clever stuff with some ultra high intensity LED's for headlamps - thought they would look good on the Lancia ? He's building a set of traffic light style go/stop lamps for his archery club with just a single bulb in each lamp and beleive me, they are BRIGHT !! He's also built a little circuit so that thay are pulsed at very high frequency so they appear to be on all the time but are actually being flashed and hence use less battery juice. Could be a good application for the scale type buggies.

Looking forward to the 14th

cheers

Well Guys I hopefully might be able to do the 14th, for a few hours and sneaky play time, give me a rest from endless physics revision that will be at the end of the exam period :L

Not sure what I will have to run but looking at the terrain from the pictures posted this evening will be leaving the rally car at home and using the support truck and Schlesser buggy, I think its very unlikely that my Bowler will be anywhere near running tho I hope to have that ready in some form for the Goodwood weekend and the beach ;)

Cheers

Bring what you think will be best for a woody terrain. But there is a bit of area to suit most cars. As long as my Propshaft for my highlift turns up ill be ok, If not the pumpkin get battered again LOL
