I'm not sure if it needs to be painted (I am going to buy a lunchbox) or if the shell comes that colour, can someone let me know?

Thanks :o

The gold Lunchbox or the normal one?

They are a hard plastic top moulded in white and you paint the outside if it's a normal one using model paints (TS-*) in Tamiya in the same manner as you would a static model.

Gold one afaik is plated.

Thanks, but do you mean color No: "Part No: PC06 "? This is the Tamiya paint, or should I be odering the spray instead? ):

I prefer to use air brush myself. If you don't have one your next best option is pressure pack cans of Tamiya TS paint (PS is for polycarb shells). Using a paintbrush will end in a poor finish.

Color number is upto you. Yellow is boxart. It will have the boxart paint code in the instructions.

If you have the white bodyshell that comes with the kit then your only limit is your imagination. You can use any aerosol paint from Halfords, Wilco, Focus, Homebase or other store. Most are enamel based and most have been used by myself or freinds. The colour range is unlimited. If a car manufacturer uses it so can you. This includes plain, metalflake, pearlescent, hi-gloss enamels for fridges or radiators, and now even suede or leather effect from Focus or Homebase. When you have the desired effect, and after applying any decals or vynils then a few coats of laquer to seal all and the jobs done. Your biggest problem is deciding what colour. Good luck.

A quick check of the showrooms will reveal some really interesting takes on the Lunchbox shell.

Briliant. Does anyone know the actual paint code in the instructions? Also is there anywhere where I can download the instructions in a PDF or something similar?

Many thanks B)
