ANNIVERSARY VINTAGE MEET Sunday, 22 June

This event is open to all competitors who own a Vintage 1:10 scale buggy or truck.

Check out the rules on the download page.

Watch out for entry details

I found this while browsing the Net. Does anyone know anything about it? I've never raced before but am slowly growing quite a good vintage selection that I'd love to put on the track with other enthusiasts.

I'd definantly make the trip down from the Central Coast to Sydney.

Haven't read it yet, but I'm gonna be there. I don't think the Retro-Scorcher will be done by then, but I'll have something entered.

Gee some of those guys have some serious machinery.

I was thinking of bringing my 959, Brat, Wild one & Frog. I also have a Sand Rover, 3 x Sand Scorchers & an Audi Quattro that I could bring for display.

Like I said, I've never raced before so it would be quite an interesting day for me.

Be careful Jak.... you'll most likely meet BORMAC on the day..... after which point, it's all over, really......

Would be a nice outing. See some nice rides.

Dunno if I would want to drive however... 19T put you to sleep it's so slow.

Can't find a definition there of "vintage" either. My Top Force would be too modified with GPM and evo parts to drive. And Mamba is not a rebuildable can so is illegal. Least they let you use decent IB4200 cell packs.

Unflatulencely, the Top Force is too new, isn't it?. They were about '93, Mataray being '91?...

I'm going to wimp and run in 540/Sporttuned... Which is a weird mitchmatch anyway....

Hi Alex

Yeh I saw Bormac's trailer with 7000 cars from last years meet in the pics, he could have the whole vintage meet by himself!

I have to limit myself, there are only so many that I can fit in the front of a Veedub.

But back to the racing I got to this page to enter http://www.sydneyrc.com/entries.php then select the event on the pull down menu, I have what u guys may consider pretty basic questions. What do u guys do with radio frequency, do u try & bring as many as u can then sort out who has what on the day? How many cars will u actually race? DO i have to join an RC club?

Basically I just want to turn up & participate, don't car if I get dead last in my heats.

Jak, First time racing aye??

Basically, bring whatever spare crystals you have, as it will make it a little easier for the race organizers to find one for you to use, that no one else is using in your race.. This is all done when you sign in and register (enter)..

Depending on the numbers, there will probably be between 6 to 10 cars in a race (usually about 8) and most clubs will run 3 to 4 heats and then a final (unless they run to AARCMCC rules???...Vintage??)..

You will need to have a fresh charged battery for every race, so you will probably also need to bring your charger.. Most serious racers will charge their (7.2Volt) batteries on the day as this gives the best performance..

Guys, just come along and have some fun, it is after all meant to be a fun day out and to raise some money for Diabetes Australia.

Personally, I will being running two Top Forces. I am hoping to convince the Race Director to allow me to run my standard Top Force with a Sports Tuned in the Vintage class. The Evo version I will run in 4wd stock.

Well, I have my '89 Worlds Car and Blackfoot ready to go.

Must be the only Blackfoot in history controlled by a 3PK

Besides, from what I make of the format, the vintage classes are run on handicap aren't they?. .... Which suits me. No one here has seen me climb a ladder.

Well, in case you guys haven't been following the RCTech thread, the meet looks like being postponed until July 13. Contact Jen for more details.

It sort of suits me, I'm shopping for new bits after I took my Terra Scorcher for a test run at the local track on Sunday and managed to snap it on half on the first lap. :)

I suppose that *is* why you test.

I couldn't make the new date. Gutted. :)

Did it go ahead? Any photos or videos from the day?

- James

Bad news. It was a great day.

Good news. Jen (the club) is considering holding another vintage meet in November, so all is not lost.

As soon as I hear back with more details I'll post something on TC Forums.

Cheers
