I'm getting one of these, and just have a few questions.

Is it able to race in the UK tamiyacup?

Are the belts easy to snap? do I need to buy replacements?

Are the chassis parts expensive to replace? or could I swap it out with the carbon re-enforced tub chassis?

05ms is a very competent racer. It's known to be more for stock class, unlike 415 or 416. The reason being, motor is mounted more centrally and it doesn't have enough rear grip for hotter motors. Parts are pretty much the same as other tamiya chassis. LW suspension and 05 diffs. Standard 05 tub will not fit. If you get tired of racing, you can always convert it to short wheel base and throw on a 30th rsr or other short porsche shells.

No, the TA05MS is not legal for racing in the Tamiya Cup. Only the standard TA05 and TA05-IFS are allowed, although you can then throw lots of TRF416 hop ups at them :);) One part specifically not legal is the TA05 double deck carbon chassis. The rest of the rules are here as anything but a TT-01 will be in the superstock class, for which you will need a Tamiya RZ motor.

You would have to have a huge accident to damage the carbon chassis, especially if you prepare it properly in the first place by sealing the edges to prevent it delaminating. All of my tourers still use their original chassis plates, even those with many years racing behind them. There's a lot of parts that would also need replacing if you were to convert it to a tub chassis though.

Regarding belts I don't know anyone at our club that has snapped a belt in a touring car, especially as the very tight track we have means there is more strain on the belts than on more common open tracks. The usual problem is they stretch and wear out over time (as in a lot of months or years, not a few weeks!). From experience you are more likely to find someone with damaged gears in a shaft drive car than a snapped belt on a racetrack.
