Todya I was off of work. I had a lot of spare time. ALso had a NIB CR-01. A spare Traxxas Radio (From my new E-Maxx - installed a Spektrum). Also, a spare Tamiya SPort Tuned Motor. So, combine all of the above and you get a new built CR01 and a few funny photos. Just ordered an ESC, Tamiya TLU-01 (On backorder) and still thinking of what colour to paint it. Oh, and it is such a cool ride I'm actually going to run this one :) . Well, the kids will have to fight me for it.

The build was relatively quick and if you pay attention to the steps is relatively easy. The best part ? The parts bags are opened one at a time and include everything you need for those steps. Excellent. Only downside you ask ? The 80 scews for the beadlocks ;) . Cheers.

shuddering at the thought of piecing together a stainless steel screw kit for CR01

got so bored of daily routine today... i dusted off the Pajero MTW to replace a blown lightbulb,

its only been sitting on shelf awaiting attention for like 8 yrs.

Ended up rewiring the whole thing including a new ESC & LEDs in the spotties instead of bulbs.

Forgot how FAST the thing goes  even with just a 540 & small pinion.

Puzzled to why you would want a Sport Tuned in a Crawler?

Easy answer - it was laying around new and I thought "Why not ?" Besides - I can't build just a stock truck  .

Still awaiting esc & leds. Going to paint it tamiya copper as well.

that'll look sweet in that colour.

Thanks - I'm undecided I'm a big fan of the "monochromatic" one colour scheme myself - it is going to be a runner so I need not spend tons of time prepping/painting. here's my Axial/TCS truck (which incidentally will soon be for sale) with the copper colour & white two tone. Go ahead and let me know folks: Solid Copper OR with the Copper body / White roof ?

looking good

I like the color your picked out.

Did you do the shock mount ''fix'' from Jason Carter? Stock manual build it limits rear suspension, a quick attatchment relocation allows much more rear travel.

Done now - thanks billg4 :) . I agre - I htink that Tamiya "copper" turned out really well - was a real pain to mask that roof though when have short patience like I do.

My ESC & LEDS will be here early next week & then I'll post the completed photos and add it to my showroom.

I think thats the best one i've seen really looks great. You can tell you took a serious amount of time on that shell.

Nice Job As usual 'btmr' :)

Is it going to get Dirty? Cos if it is you might want to change that Servo Saver?
