High Lift Rendered Useless After One Week :o(

Hi guys, was running my high lift hilux and everything jammed up and it wouldnt go no further. turns out the tiny circlips fell off one of the propshaft pins and the metal pin was hanging out. i was lucky that the pin was still there but the circlips are long gone. sort of annoyinjg as this is the only part tamiya ready built! anyone know where i can get these circlips, they are tiny! seems like madness that the whole truck be disabled because of that

Don't know the diameter of the pin, but Modelfixings usually have just about any size of hardware you'll ever need.

cheers terry. just need to work out the diamater of the pin then. perhaps i should email tamiya, does anyone know the adress that you email them at with problems such as this?

The TNX has pins like this on it's driveshafts

The E-clips for that are 2.5mm (I think!!)

In the TNX instructions it says to put a blob of

threadlock on the clips to help stop them coming loose

and falling out

i did that yeah but was thinking more a micrometer. anyway looks like 1.2 or 1.5mm to me so im going to order both from your link terry. there so cheap it dosent really matter if i get the wrong ones. thanks for the help, ill let you know how i get on.

I saw a good idea on another club members showroom, clear heatshrink around the uni joint, might get you up and running until you get some replacement circlips, here is a link to his showroom entry, look at pic #8

1 bag of #1951 Half Shaft Long

2 bags of #4628x Hardened Steel output yokes

I too have just found that my c-clip came out, fortunately I found out whilst cleaning, and was able to fit a clip I salvaged from the WELL used previous shafts fitted. I have just covered them all with thread-lock, will keep an eye out on them again.

Mine fell out too! i think it's a common problem.

replaced mine with a small nut & bolt untill the traxxas ones turned up in the post.

There alot quieter too!

hey guys, my replacement parts from modelfix came today, the 1.5mm circlips fit ok. seems like its a common problem! thanks for all the tips mine too are now covered in threadlock!

interested in this traxxas thing now though and will probably order some soon as, they have good stock on ebay!
