was thinking of sticking in TLU01+TLU02 into the one i revived last week

but got too lazy... couldn't be hecked replacing all the bulbs with LEDs.

(yeah mine's got olde skool lightbulbs fitted all round including the taillights...

the yellow glow is so much more retro compared to bluewhite LEDs!)

My MU had those bulbs also. They do look a little better than the super bright LEDs. ABC has a set of LEDs that are a ligt yellow color to look more like the real thing. I havent tried them yet but they are cheap and can be wired straight through the battery.

I guess sticking a MFU in a Pajero might be overkill but that hasent stopped people before :)

The MFU would be overkill in the pajero. Reason is that the only provision for lights are the front buckets and auxillary lights. In addition to those, the MFU has Turn signals, brake lights and back up lights. you would be missing out on a lot of scale.

I don't really want to let the cat out of the bag but I am currently working on Scorcher with an MFU

I started a project over a year ago to fit the TLU01 and 02 to my Pajero. As it gets very abused, it needs to all go in a waterproof box and so it's remained as seen in the photos for ages, and since then there have also been a greater range of LEDs available, rather than the items I had to make up as seen in the photos. I've also come across voltage trimming issues as the Tamiya units cheat a bit and just make the rear lights brighter when braking rather than separately switching on brake lamps (especially as I have a separate High Level brake lamp fitted as well). So will need to add some additional comparators do detect the change in output from the TLUs so that the job is done properly. If you look carefully you can see Tail, Brake, Indicator and Reversing lamps.

Mud.
