Took the Bearhawk (which seems to be 50% glue now!) for a couple of bashes on Southampton Common. I've got a couple of 1400mah Tamiya Racing Packs, and a 4250mah Ansmann pack, but if anything the Racing Packs are faster. Of course they only last about ten minutes, but even on grass the little buggy was impressive. In fact almost everyone who walked past asked about it, the people I was with were very impressed.

Hopefully the parts I bought from Crash Cramer will arrive soon, then it's the front suspension I need to sort out. Or maybe I just need to buy that LunchBox.

Anyway...

Friday night after work = gravel hound, mad fighter and sand viper in the yard and dirt pile.

Saturday, beautiful weather, nothing to do = tt-01 drifter, mad fighter with street treads for several battery packs, plus all of the above in the dirt/grass. Used and recharged ALL of my 7.2v battery packs, which is always a good day. :)

Sunday, cold and grey, brrrrrr = come on, you didn't think that was gonna stop me, did ya? = Mini Baja, Mini Fox and Mini Coopers [both of them]. It seemed like a mini kinda day, plus this way I could stay in the driveway and refresh myself with a nice cup of hot tea in between runs.

So, what was your weekend bash?

Was at our onroad track here, when it poured with rain for about 10 minutes. All the cars were packed away and we waited for the rain to stop. When the rain stopped the track was still soaked.

I didn't wanna be just sitting back waiting, so I put my Terra Conqueror on the onroad and ripped and drifted the track LOL

mini baja and fox mini in the drive every time the rain stopped enough to dry off the pavement. mostly dry that is.

then the stadium blitzer & stadium thunder in the grass before it looked like a rice paddy. then ran the emaxx in it after it got totally soaked.

fix, repair, maintain, and generally pet, ogle and admire all of my tamiya collection when the blasted sky opened up for most of the rest of the weekend and holiday.

on the bright side, they are all shiny and ready to rip when the sun comes back out. plus i thought of several new bits that i simply must obtain for a couple of runners. that's what happens when you have too much time on your hands and a fast internet connection on a rainy 3-day weekend.

Took the wife out and went scouting for a location to bash. We found a nice construction site. I slowly crawled up and around the big dirt piles with the High Lift while the wife hopped and bashed about with the Clod Buster. It was a nice break from our usual routine of running buggies of some sort.

Went camping this weekend. We took along my Grasshopper and my wife's Midnight Pumpkin. There were quite a few other RC vehicles around the campsite, mostly toy-grade, but one guy had a Traxxas Rustler, and there was a pretty fast electric boat out on the water a couple times.

The real star of the weekend, surprisingly, was the Grasshopper. The car is completely stock except for bearings and a 540 motor. I consistently drew the biggest group of spectators with that car, especially running on the beach. The surface was somewhere between very coarse sand and very fine gravel, with weeds growing in it and ruts in it from raking. The Hopper cruised along the beach, front tires bobbing up and down, rear end skipping from crest to crest over the ruts, with a constant rooster tail coming from the rear tires. It looked so cool, and I forgot how quick those cars can be with just a 540. The Pumpkin got admiring giggles for its wheelies, but the Hopper drew more ooh's and aah's.

No broken parts either, except one lost headlight, and some cracks in the rear spoiler (adds character). That thing is a tank. 22 years in the hobby, and the Grasshopper is still my favorite car.

Went to the local woods / beauty spot with a mate and our trucks I took the Pajero and CR-01 out for a blast in the rain.

Man the weather sucked big time, we both got drenched even when sheltering under the trees but both came back with grins on our faces :)

I discovered the tamiya Esc supplied with the pajero does not like being submerged in water to much :) But boy did I have a blast racing through massive muddy puddles sending muck and bullets flying ;)

Don't worry though a quick stint on the radiator once home and it's all working fine again, I have since fitted an M-troniks Esc and bagged up the RX so that next time rain will not stop play

Took my Group C Mercedes C-11 out on Sat and Sunday mornings for a drive :) They just built a nice smooth carpark about 5 minute walk away from where I live...woohooo. Mind you it can get slippery when it hasnt rained for awhile but doesnt matter as its soooo close.

I ran my Wheely King at the in-laws. (I know it's not a Tamiya, but they're temporarily out of comission :) ) I might post pictures later..........

Is it worth resurrecting this topic, or does the "what did you do today?" thread fulfill everyone's needs?

I'd certainly like to see more pictures of bashing, fixes and builds.
