I really dont understand this thread!

Me and my wife pay our wages into a joint bank account - We dont earn a fortune but we are quite comfortable, I buy whatever models i want and she buys what she wants, easy as.

If she wants to go out she goes out, if i want to work on my cars i work on them - relationships are give and take, The wife says she likes it that she knows where i am!

You're right. I live a similar situation, we too don't have a lot of coming in, but she'll let me indulge myself, as long as it isn't a HL or the Crawler every week. That said, I've just ordered a Tamiya FJ from Modelsport. Hooray for me!!!

Have a beer and chill

that looks like the Hofbrau Haus in Mnchen. they serve lovely beer there, but don't mess with the waitresses. that's about 6-8 litres of beer she is carrying and those are real glasses, not some cheapo plastic mugs. :)

Girls/women should be thankful that we're not out looking for their replacements. :)

I know my place and i love my Better half more than i love my Hilux!

There only cars at the end of the day and i know that i'll get a better cuddly from her anyday.

Cars are just too cold.

They cant cook yer dinner either :-)

Or reach the kitchen Sink!

Plus if i want to buy something i usual get her a sweetner first then everyone's a winner.

you big girl!

bet ryan gives good cuddles....

he'd have too! i couldn't live with him the amount of time he spends on here at stupid times of the morning!

You know what the problem is......

Love

She wants you all to yourself, she doesn't want to be chosen over a RC car that she considers "toys".

I can see both sides because i have been on both sides!!

Just compromise with the hobby and your girlfriend. If she moans spend a little time with her and make her feel special.

For those people who ever complain that theyre wife/girlfriend talks too much, then the truth is they don't! Men on average speak 20,000 words a day where as women speak 35,000. So by the time you come home from work you have done all 20,000 where as she still has 15,000 to fill her quota!!! so just sit there and let her babble, occasionally going yeh, uhha etc.

Why not have dates nights where its just you and her or discover each other through other activities.

Failing that just remember the famous words by J.John "Trying times are not the time to give up"

Agony aunt signing off.

P.S. if you are married remember who did she choose to marry!!

My gf finds this hobby cute and often wrecks my cars while trying to perform some crazy stunts. She loves my Lunchbox :) though soon enough I might as just buy a new Lunchbox as I think I manage to break nearly all the parts ...

^^ roll on laughing floor??

This is the best thread ever ;-)

Women eh ? You can't live with 'em, you can't live with 'em (or something like that).

Pete

i believe the saying is "women. cant live with em, cant shoot em" :)

to the original poster - u have to ask why she would be against you doing something that makes u happy. doesnt she want u to be happy?

Last night I tell my wife that I am interested again in the hobby, and I have a list of kits that I plan on getting over the course of this year.

A smart man would have just bought one kit at a time and letting the woman find out when she stumbles on it herself. As long as they aren't all gathered up in one place so she can count the actual number of kits, it wouldn't matter because they all look the same to her anyways.

Women knows this theory works because they are smart enough not to have all their shoes in one place. If you don't beleive me, take a deck of cards and put one card in each pair of shoes you find around the house and then count the remaining cards (less to count). Stop after the first deck of cards.

Hey I'm a woman and even I don't understand them! :)

Oh what little hope us men have....

Took her out for a slap up last night. [Posh dinner, not a good kicking]. Cost? 70. Today I'll be spending about 400 on kits then. I Like that exchange rate. Remember the rules, halve everything you spend when telling her, cos;

1) it's easier to remember,

2) still sounds like a load of money to her, but you're clearly not quite insane, and

3) Tesco do roses for 4.99.

Job jobbed as they say.

The simple solution I find is to just make sure that it doesnt compromise the "going" out budget directly, that way they never know what all this costs :L

Ow and to make sure just avoid tamiya as an Xmas present ..... hard I know but (shrugs shoulders)
