Only Tamiyaclub members can enter this event.

Does that mean that non-subscribers are banned from entering the event?

Or can anyone who is a non-paying member of this site enter the event?

If the non Tamiyaclub subscriber was accompaned by a Tamiyaclub member who can vouch for them then it is possible. As long as all the other rules (only using a Tamiya car) then I do not see why not.

The rule was writen to try and stop an influx of non Tamiyaclub top drivers seeing the oppotunity for easy trophys.

We see time and time again other country's having Tamiya trophy meetings, well heres everyones chance to go home with 'Tamiyaclub champion' on thier trophy - how cool is that! :)

Come on guys get booked in for this one ;)

Bit about how it started:- Back in the days the holiday was at Pontins holiday camp, same place Brean Sands.

It was then called the Model Makers Festival.

It ran for 30 odd years before we moved to Unity as Pontins just wasn't offering us the facilitys anymore.

Within the first early years Tamiya traveled from Japan to promote the SRB's - yes Tamiya came here! :)

This is where it all started for the UK and it's Tamiya addiction.

All I want to do is take you guy's back to your routes!

Come on - got questions :D - throw them at me. Don't miss out or people will be going home with more than one trophy each!

I know evoman has his eye on the Lunchbox title.

I only have a few bookings so far, If you want a spacific chassis race - Tell Me!

This is interesting and I'm suprised I missed the post originally. I used to Holiday in Breen when I was a nipper!

Can I ask:

Are the cars supossed to be standard (silver can, standard shocks etc)

Can we have an M03/ mini class?

I'm sure I'll have a few more Q's. I'll check my work schedual/ holiday allowance and PM you today. Paypal accepted?

I think the main problem your having is that when we have had spring meets at Kidd it has had big interest as its a fun meet, no empahasis on racing as such and I think thats where the draw is for other members. The most popular classes that are run were the likes of Wild Willy's, Lunchbox/Pumpkin etc most of the time the drivers cant run the cars for laughing. I love the tamiyas for the fun of it, for racing I prefer more modern equipment, I cant believe i put that I race Mardave V12's LOL.

Also I think Ryan has hit on something, being RULES, are there motor rules i.e. kit type or does anything go?

I know kiddy's main draw was a fun meet, thats one reason I have organized a racing event with trophy's. plus prizes will be esc's folks :D

As for the rules regarding motors, shocks etc. There no restrictions on Hop up's, motors etc. As long as it's a Tamiya chassis.

If i get enough people booking saying they want a Wild Willy heat and I get the minimum of 6 then there will be one and I will order the trophy's. Same goes for any Tamiya car that can run on a off road track. Surface will be grass & mud. Maybe some sand for the SRB's! ;)

Just think off holding a Tamiyaclub title for a year and then having to come back the next year to defend it :)

I need some title names to go on the trophy's , Lunchbox bouncers?

Can you give me an idea of expected numbers? Or even people that have put there hand up to it?

The main problem with non standard stuff racing as people (myself included) think that money wins. I don't want to spend a Meeeeeelion dollars on a super-dooper brushless thing.

You haven't got a meeeeeeelion Dollars anyway, Skint Boy!

You are right though he who has the deepest pockets and hence the quickest car will have an unfair advantage over poor Joe with his box stock Hornet (say)

This is probably mostly true, in the 2 & 4wd, but like I have found out over the years usualy what happens is 'he who go fastest usualy crashes fastest!' :D

The Lunchboxes/Pumpkins shall we say only silver cans then, plus SRB's and any other class Wild Willy for example. :)

2 & 4wd buggys is still modified, if enough people book in and say silver can only and want a silver can only race then there will be one. It all depends on numbers.

I'm a bit confused? Do I have to be a subscriber to TC to enter or can I enter just being a member (not paying the 15 fee for subscribing) Also, is there a juniour category for under 16's?

If you are a TC member then you can enter, I can't see the numbers justifying a junior category.

Keep the questions coming chaps! This event is for you. :)

'Deep pockets' doesn't mean they can drive chap! Its all about skill and set up - I have thrashed many a driver using a stock motor, Evoman does it on a regular basis at one of the championships we are in :)

Thanks, could I use a buggy in 4wd class, then remove the dogbones etc. and enter in the 2wd class? Do you have any pics of the track?

I can't post any pictures of the track as I haven't built it yet! I arrive at Unity a two days early to build the track. It will depend on the number and chassis entry's to how I build the track. :)

Thanks for the replies! I'll need to ask my Taxi driver (Dad!!) if he'll take me :). If I can get there, I'll be entering a DF02 in 4wd buggy. I may use the same car in 2wd by removing the front dogbones, assuming thats allowed?

The DF02 will be ok in the 4wd obviously but the gearing with the front dog bones out it won't handle to well as the internal gearing is all wrong - by all means you can have ago with it but I wouldn't want you you to waste your enrty fee.

Thanks for all the answers super gripper!! To anyone going, what set up you all using? If I go I'll either have a sport-tuned or trinity 27-turn in a stock DF-02 apart from aluminium driveshaft and metal bearings.

The oval 1/12th is Mini stox, Saloon stox, Stockcars, Mardave V12's and sidecars. No Tamiya indoors, just usual 12th oval stuff. I will be racing my 12th stuff.
