Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the new CR-01 wheels will fit a standard super clod buster axle?. If i remember right the wheel hex fittings on the clod are 12mm - have the CR-01 wheels got that same kind of fitting?

Cheers,

James.

Once you remove the shoulder on the brass hexes on the Clod the wheels will fit on. The 12mm hex is the standard wheel fitting for 2.2 crawler wheels.

Well, i've fitted the CR-01 wheels and tyres on my clod crawler - and yes i had to remove the lip on one side of the brass hex adapter so it could fit into the rim better, but i also had to drill out the centre of the rim slightly so it would actually fit on the stub axle fully and lock into place on the splines. That left a small gap on the stub axle between the nut (which was fully tightened up) and the wheel. That was solved quite by luck as i just happened to have a set of nylon tamiya bearings that fitted perfectly and filled the gap - i've no idea where they came from!.

The project continues..................

So I take it this won't be running at the UKRCRC crawler nationals then? I think both me and Twinset will be running 2.2 shod Clods there, well I certainly will assuming the parts turn up for it.

Ah Terry, where/what/who and when is this crawler thing on ;) mine is up and running now, but so far it's just running around in the garden. I'm still tinkering with it to see what settings work and what dont. It's running on a pair of Novak 55 turn motors, a Novak rooster reversable ESC and the standard kit pinions. I'm using Intellect 4600 cells and boy am i getting long run times - and i mean loooooooooonnnnnnnnng run times!
