Here are a couple of photos of my finished F350.

And one with the Rock Crawler in the same shot.

Both are standard build & the F350 has the MFC-02 unit fitted.

Now to get them muddy.

Thanks to all who answered previous posts of mine asking lots of questions.

Ohhhhhh man, you just had to put those pics up didn't you, lol. I just bought a Toyota hilift kit. I have yet to build it because I am waiting for the bearings to arrive. (Looks down at the boxes). But after seeing the size comparison between the Land Cruiser and the F350 I wish I would have gotten the land cruiser first. I didn't realize it was that much bigger! It looks like it could drive over the top of the Hilift truck, lol. Sooo, now I am about to buy the Land Cruiser too. My fiance is gonna think I have lost my mind!!! That's ok though, I can just blame you... But with that said, your trucks look great. Top notch job.

Does anyone know if you can put the LC wheels on the Hilift trucks? Because to be honest, I think the Hilift kits should have came with the same size tires the LC did. Also, I have been noticing on the suspension the springs look like there is no piston in the middle of them. Am I correct? And if so how do the springs stay in? j Are the springs just secured at the tops and bottoms?

Enjoy your toys!!

Like you, I hadn't realised how addictive this hobby was!!!

I bought the LC first, but before it was finished I had ordered the F350.

Now I am considering yet another vehicle. The trucks are great but I now crave for something with a bit more speed ;)

Out of the F350 & the Crawler, the crawler is more fun in my opinion.

To answer your question on the LC springs, they are held captive at the top & bottom. The design is such that it it is easy to change the springs for ones with different rates without a major stip down. I have seen different rate springs listed on the Tamiy USA website. I imagine for real serious crawling you would want softer springs & less damping in the shocks so the axles follow the ground contours with maximum articulation. The stock set up is probably a compromise to give some stability when running at full speed.

Thanks, I feel better knowing I am not the only one. I swear if I order the LC it will be my last for a while. Ha, Ha, Ha, ya right who am I kidding? Hopefully my fiance, lmao... Thanks for the info too. I will remember what you said if, ah what the heck, when I get a LC, lol... I hear ya on the speed thing. I am on the other side there. I have plenty of cars with speed. So I am now moving towards the reality side of the hobby. Just something about that realism factor I just love.

One more question, does the LC come with ball bearings? I cracked up when I read the Hilift instructions. It says that ball bearings are available and recommended. This lead me to think, if they are available, Tamiya recommends them, then why aren't they included in the kit? LOL... Especialy considering how pricey of a kit it is. It is still a great kit don't get me wrong. I just get a kick out of statements like that is all.

Yep, the LC came with all the ball bearings in the kit.

Agree with you on the F350/Hilift. They should include ball bearings with it given the price. I picked a set up off ebay for mine from a UK seller for around 12.

Same here, the only thing is. My Highlift came way before my bearings. And of course in the first step I need the bearings lol.. Nice that the LC comes with them.
