I notice alot of people putting E-Maxx two-speed trannys in TXT-1s, but I like to keep my Tamiyas all Tamiya. Has anybody seen someone try a High-Lift tranny in a TXT-1? Losing the twin motor drive doesn't bother me and my 'Lift tranny has proven quite durable, but the TXT-1 is pretty big and heavy. Just a random project thought looking for some input. Thanks.

I'm putting a high lift transmission into a juggernaut 2 chassis, but it's only going to be a light runner.

Working things out, it appears the high lift axles are geared lower than txt-1 axles, plus they have smaller wheels - all in all putting a lot less strain on the gearbox.

To gain any performance increase you'd have to run it hard. The idea of installing an e maxx transmission is to keep the low torque for acceleration, but gain extra top speed with the second gear. Driving the truck hard might damage a high lift transmission, but if you was planning to keep the truck fairly slow then i think it'll be ok :)

You'll need custom shafts. The TXT and EMaxx both have 6mm output shafts, the H/L is 5mm.

Other than that, check the ratios. I believe the TXT box is 18:1. If the Highlift box is taller, one motor won't do what two does, and you might find yourself with a bunch of gears that won't pull the truck.
