Hello,

I was wondering what the best thing to use on tires to prevent dry rot with tires would be? It would seem that tire dressing for 1/1 cars would work. Buuut I know from being a detailer in the past that some tire dressings are actually worse for the tires than nothing at all, in other words some just make the tires shine but don't protect them, and can actually dry the rubber out even worse. Is there anything that is a fail proof way to preserve your vintage tires? Thanks in advance.

Glycerine or pure silicone oil.

Hiya Terry,

Nothing here yet by the way, but I just wanted to know about spraying WD-40 over the tires. Will it prevent tires go dry rot or not?

Best regards,

EB

DO NOT USE WD40 - It will break down the tyres. It's designed to disperse water...

You can get large cans of pure silicone spray off eBay. Not only is it excellent for tyres, but you can use it on plastics, etc. to make it all nice and shiny.
