Hi Guys I have almost finished my Hilux with all the extras I have yet to add rear lights still a work in progress I decided to hand paint certain parts on the body as I thought the decals didnt give it justice like the chrome around the window (water gutter) and the front Grill I painted Pearl Black its a Ford Automotive 2 pak colour mettalic as I want to paint my Knight Hauler in this colour and wanted to test it out .It has had all of its clear coats and has been rubbed back with wet & dry sandpaper as per Showdog's Tutorial...Glad I got pointed to his Tutorial...could have been messy otherwise..... Phew. I choose the original colours it was released in .I have still yet to hook up all the lights, put on the Decals and add side steps but thats just a formality .I reckon she came out all right considering its my first hard body shell (usually do lexan) anything I missed ?... Let me know what you think.

.....(Knight Hauler with everything came in the mail today 14 boxes all up,including the hop ups for her) :D

Congrats on the excellent paint job done on this one!

You know if there was no Bruiser version of the Toyota Hi-Lux I would have thought it was a nice truck. Right up when I got the High-Lift box out of the package, first thought come to mind was that this surfer-themed truck was rather depressing, like "look what they done to their highest achievement in the history of RC modeling!"

But still I have to admit that doing the art box paint scheme is very difficult. And you've done a great job there.

Best regards,

EB

RC4wd stompers or crushers look perfect in my opinion - better than big 2.2's

Nice yellow truck, but I don't agree!

This truck was made for 2.2 wheels with Tamiya 1985 All-traction utility Tires.

Y'all take care,

Nice for a monster truck, but not for a scaler :)

Well, it all depends on what kind of pick-up truck do you want to represent in scale.

Mine is actually a scale of an early 80's california Mudbog racer, not a monster truck.

You see these scale tires represent 48 inchers.

Hi Guys I finished my Hilux I still thought I had a fair bit too do as there were heaps of spare screws, nuts, washers, plus a heap of plastic parts still on the tree ...must be for other models with the ammount spare metal parts you could prob build half a kit I know Tamiya always put in a few spares but whats left is huge makes me wonder if I forgot anything even thou I read the Instructions twice sometimes three times ...Is the Toyota Hilux kit hard on parts mainly metal pieces screws and the like ..there are just a awefull lot of spares :)

Actually, I'm VERY happy with them spares. For the price of the kit that's the least thing Tamiya could have done. The older kits had little or no spares at all, like two washers extra and such.

BTW, what do y'all think of the "hog heaven" decal? I thought it was pretty sarcastic.

Cheers,

EB
