I've not been on the forums much recently, having had lots of other stuff on - moved house, bought a new 1:1 car, been into hospital etc...

But then on Wednesday, having a day off work to recover from my hospital visit and feeling very sorry for myself, I suddenly realised that it's been a while (as in, about 6 weeks) since I last built an NIB - and my stock of NIBs is now almost completely gone because I haven't bought any in ages. I thought, what I really need to cheer myself up, is a new NIB to build.

And now here I am, going mad 'cos I have this undeniable urge to buy a TT01E Porsche from my LHS that I can build and bash in my underground car park, and I have no spare money to do so !!

Think I might have to start selling something again.

The wierd thing is that for 6 weeks I didn't miss the RC hobby at all - I was so busy with other stuff. It only took a single day of rest and boredom for it all to come crashing back!

Help me, people!!

My name is Ax, and I am an RC addict...

Is like getting a hair cut. Once you think you need a cut, no one can convince you not to. Go ahead go for it, do you want a bite into my apple?

I hear you Ax,

I am going crazy over an F103GT right now, for no reason other than I want one, which is stupid for me because I have to drive 20 mins from my house to find a surface that will allow me to run onroad cars! But I just LOVE Tamiya touring cars and it's a chassis I don't have yet! I am just drawn to the lightweight simple race car design.......

I know I just won't get my head straight until I get one. Problem is I keep spending my spare cash on bits and pieces for future projects!

But for me, after feeling so sad last time I sold ALL my r/c stuff I vowed never to sell anything again, I promised myself to just wait until I can save up.

But AX! 6 weeks since you built a NIB kit................ ARE YOU CRAZY!!!!!!!!

In the fine words of Homer J. Simpson: "No Beer and Something, Something make Homer go Crazy" Quick, go buy a NIB kit before something bad happens!

LIE, CHEAT, STEAL! Do whatever it takes to get a fix of that oh-so-sweet smell that only cracking open Tamiya NIB kit can provide...... YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!

Hi Ax My name is Swarm Iam a addict too

I have been an addict since 1984 with a long break in between (cash flow problem) ,wife ,kids, and career

I understand where you are coming from mate I understand your pain ,Your damned if you do and damned if you dont its a hard addiction to break

I have not had any joy...................BRB

Had to put a bid on a nice Sand Scorcher mint condition :D mmm nice (Drool)

 Ohh yes where was I ,As you can see I have not had much success.I had my wife on her computer today on ebay watching a car I wanted getting her to refresh every few seconds I was on my laptop logged onto our ebay account making sure I got the car sealed the deal......and we won  .

I watch movies now wondering if they have a Hop up's added and saying I can do a better paint job than that !!!!.I have begged borrowed but not stolen yet to get that car I wanted and Iam relatively new at this. We are all in a dark place but I really believe we will crash into each other oneday

I can see the train crash coming but I cannot stop it nor do I want to at least our addiction will not kill us I admit its a quiet addiction many hours spent in a garage or spareroom no contact with the world eye balls so dry they feel like sandpaper but the end product is beautifull..Welcome brother.I just want to let you know you are not alone.Take care

I feel exactly the same about the F103GT! I've wanted one for about a year, in the end I convinced myself not to get one because I knew I would never be able to run it due to lack of suitable area.

However, I have now decided not to get the Porsche - as good as it looks, it won't fit in with the very strict style of car that I'm building at the moment. So maybe it'll be the Toyota MR-S that I wanted earlier this year (and didn't get due to a posting error), or maybe it'll be the F103GT with a shell imported from somewhere... Or maybe I should just pay the horrific land management fee that arrived on my doorstep this morning!!
