AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

JUST LEAVE EBAY ALONE. STOP MESSING WITH IT!

JUST PUT THE DEVELOPMENT SOFTWARE DOWN, YOU'LL HURT SOMEONE! Every time I open it up, there is some 'useful fluffy tool', or change in policy to make 'you safer' (yeah right - and us richer!)

Stop it, it isn't big and it isn't clever.

Rant very much over.

Here Here, Well said that man, shame it wont make a difference.

Will someone please start up a competitive rival site that is actually fair and is not full of ridiculous charges and biased rules.

There is only one way to hit eBay and Paypal where it hurts. In the the hip pocket.

DON'T USE IT!

If seller and buyers alike show their disgust by not using ebay at all it will not take long at all before they start to realise their mistakes.

Boycott eBay!!

I'm with you guys. For one, I am not selling there my RC stuff and electronics anymore. Only local.

I miss the good old days.

So, is this new "safety" measure necessary? I mean, I don't want to change any of my ebay info anymore. i feel unsafe just by doing it ;) .

AGRH!

Thought I'd second it, cos It's doin' me head in too. I certainly wont be selling anymore, apart from the stuff I can't shift on TC! ;)

Whats happened with paypal and ebay ;) has there been a change?

Well the main change is the feedback system, sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for a buyer.

Paypal have changed there fee's again

And as for that stupid search feature who designed that? you try finding a badly listed bargain? Impossible.

Shall i go on?

ok

The way that you checkout that links you straight to paypal then doesn't log you out of paypal when your finished.

It's not worth selling anymore your leaving yourself wide open to being ripped off left right and centre, with no comebacks whatsoever.

I bought such and such off you i haven't recieved it (honest)

(Paypal)ok here's your money back!

Oh and leave the seller a negative just to rub salt in the wound!

No thank you.

Buying only from now on! for me.

I'll stop now i'm getting annoyed and the sun is shining it's Poets day Today (Pee Off Early Tommorows Saturday) and i finish work at 3 yippeeeeee :-)

They are also trialing Paypal only as payment here in Australia. If it's successful here (which I pray it fails) the rest of the world will get it too. Mutual feedback removal is also gone.

eBay/Paypal has ruined what was a good thing by introducing stupid rules.

I got ripped off by a TC member (adam_j) for 60 i paid for an old nitro thunder needing work, as soon as i paid the e-mails stopped & no car arrived and after three weeks and a paypal claim, paypal refunded me 32 pence!!!!! they say thats all they can get back from the seller. Its a joke i thought i could trust a fellow TC member but obviously not the the case.

If any one have any ideas how to get the money back plaes mail me.

Yeah, have to agree - new ebay format is awful, just awful.

What on earth were they thinking ???

Seems you just get used to a new format ( when there really was nothing wrong with the old version ) and then they go and change it AGAIN !

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I hate the new search they invented yesterday. I took ages resetting my screen preferences.

I detest 'Best Match'. I don't want pigging 'best match' stuff with loads of unrelated rubbish listed. And I don't want to have to continually put " " round everything to avoid that. If I want to refine my search I am perfectly capable of putting in extra words by myself, not running through twenty five options on the left hand side. Plus now we have to scroll miles down the page to expand the selection to worldwide instead of UK/Europe.

Grump.

Seconded :):):D:angry::angry:

The search results used to fill my screen width, now 30% of my screen area is wasted because it doesn't resize properly (Firefox 2.latest whatever number)

I'd be better of turning my monitor on it's side

And I KNOW how to a search engine thank you very much, since when were glow plugs a "Best Match" for a TT01 ? :(

There may be some hope for us all yet

Scroll right down to the bottom & there is a link to "opt out" of the wonderful new test search system

You are currently testing eBay's new search experience. If you prefer, you can opt out of the test.

Thank god for that, thanks Blacque!

I would like to opt out of ebay altogether, but it doesn't work. There still isn't a credible alterative. I have had better luck recently selling on Tamiyaclub.com than before, but having said that, I remember in the past listing something, say a NIB Scorcher for 1000 (OK few years back now) and no one even contacted me. I then listed it on eBay and it sold for 1600 (a record at the time, afaik) and to a Tamiyaclub.com member.

Go figure?

All the best, Paul.

PS: Where is completed items search now, ffs?

couldnt agree more.the new look search results are confusing, the option panel is non existent(location price etc)and just makes the whole process slower.i prefer the old check box system.and whats with the new rule that a seller cant leave negative feedback?!!!! if a buyer rips you off you cant let everyone else know to avoid him/her .what is that about

I didn't want to start a new thread, but this is slightly off and on topic.

I have a theory that we should all be more careful on Tamiyaclub.com now that ebay have changed their rules. Now that sellers can get the coveted 'Muppet of the week award' (I endeavour to offer that award in people's feedback when they distinguish themselves with stupidity and lies, rather than honest mistakes, or just not getting to the post office because they have a real life etc) without fear of retaliation, I reckon a lot of **** will start getting sold here rather than on ebay.

Newton was absolutely right!

Well I'll have my rant

On the tamiyaclub forums it explains what this section of the TC forum was setup for it says "This is the place to enter all those 'how do i...' type questions which relate to the site and how to use it."

It wasn't setup for lets complain about eBay there a plenty of foums dedicated to eBay - do it there!

I mean this is Tamiya Club... eBay ain't gonna be looking on here for feedback Tamiya Inc yes but do Tamiya Inc sell directly on eBay NO...

Sorry but it gets on my nerves, I don't like some of the stuff eBay does but I keep buying stuff on there is is fine - although I ain't sold for a while and I understand that is here a few issues are

If All the Tamiya Club users boycotted eBay there would still be thousands of Tamiya items on eBay

If you don't like the rules don't use it... Also remember that eBay ain't a *******in charity it is a business - if you want to use there 'service' ur gonna have to pay!

My rant over - anger vented - I can do my cswk now

Errrm best go check out the forum thread titles again Joel!!

Hints and tips

This is the place to enter all those 'how do i...' type questions which relate to the site and how to use it.

THIS forum is...

Ebay plugs, tips & gossip

Tell us about your great RC bargains, plug your auctions.

That part that says 'GOSSIP' means threads to do with Ebay which peobably means complaints etc

Or maybe me and loads of other TC members have interpreted it differently to you??

Posted

I interpreted this thread as an ebay tip: don't use it. :P

There's nothing wrong with complaining. If you want to use ebay, fine. If you don't, that's fine too.

Personally, I don't use ebay much, if at all. Lately, I've just been making trades and selling on rc boards. No ebay to pay...now I just have to find a replacement for paypal. Anyone have any tips?

I have noticed a couple more:

When you listed an item for auction (actual auction) and it sells, the buyer doesn't pay and you mutually agree to withdraw, two things happen. One, it seems impossible to relist the item into your shop without rewriting it (it used to be possible to change format) at the final price (this obviously makes people pay more in fees, as a shop item fee is pennies) and the relist fees for the same auction only cover the insertion fee. I remember they used to cover all fees, highlight, picture pack etc.

And another thing....

....If I wanted to trawl through 47,673,124 different spare parts, here is the thing:

I WOULDN'T BE BROWSING THE VEHICLE SECTION!!!

Grrrrrr.

I think all users who intentionally list their parts in the vehicles section should be shot, only I just noticed I did it accidently the other day ;-) Having said that, it was an accident, but everyone can't be as dumb as me, can they?
