Ansmann Charger info reqd.

I know a few people on here have got the ACX1 charger. Has anybody got any instructions for it? Specifically, what does it mean when you connect up a flat battery pack, and the green LED flashes once a second continuously?

When you connect a battery to it, the charger does a test charge then voltage check for approx 20 seconds to check that the battery is good and is running at approx the correct voltage - during this period the green light flashes. Once the test is completed OK the red light goes solid whilst charging is in progress, the green light comes back on solid when the peak has been reached and the charger drops back to trickle mode.

If the red light flashes continuously it usually means the battery is no good, although you can sometimes recover them using a overnight charge on a trickle unit.

I see - maybe I just didn't leave it long enough then. With most of my packs it starts charging after a few seconds (solid red). I'll try it again.

Shopkeeper, does the Ansmann discharge first?

The ACX1 doesn't, but the next version up (ACS47) does and has the option of 1, 2 or 4 amp output rather than the flat 3 amp.
