Wiring two batteries in parallel basically doubles the capacity of the pack, so if you use two 1800mah packs you effectively have the same capacity as one 3600mah pack.

It will run a little bit slower with having to haul the extra weight of the pack around and you will get almost double the runtime. Although it is really a pointless idea as you'll get more speed and slightly longer runtime by just using two batteries one after the other.

If you use two lipos the weight isn't as much of an issue. I use two in parallel in my boat and haven't had any problems so far.
