Tank experts, please correct me if I am incorrect....

I noticed the tracks supplied for the Tiger 1 is not scaled in width like the normal tracks used for the 1:1 scale. The tracks look narrower which I understand narrower tracks at 1:1 scale were used for rail transport and wider tracks were used during combat.

Did Tamiya want to save cost by suppling narrow tracks?

Ahhh. One of my pet subjects.[;)]

On real Tigers, the transport tracks are only as wide as the drive sprockets. They were used w/o the outer roadwheels or side mudguards.

The Tiger in the Saumer museum (France) is fitted with these.

The Tamiya Tiger has the (725mm) wide combat tracks. The real Tiger at Bovington has these. Seen it moving. [:D]
