Hi All,

I've used search and can't find the info I want.

Are these the size bearings I need for a TA03?

Amount/Bearing code Bearing Size

2x730 7x3x3

4x850 8x5x2.5

8x1150 11x5x4

4x1260 12x6x4

4x1510 15x10x4

Cheers in advance

Thanks heaps, you've saved me heapsof $$$$$

LHS wants $180 for set but won't tell me sizes, local bearing shop reckons $25-$40 if I can tell them sizes, guess where I'm going....

no problem. however, bring measurements of each bearings width as well. the 11x5 are definitely not 3mm width, more like 2mm width.

1150s are 4mm wide

can't ever be 2mm... 'cos with 11mm outside 5mm inside leaves 3mm thickness between races so width gotta be more than that

Hamish?

which TA03 have you got?

only TA03R needs 4x 850s

TA03F only needs 2, and that's only if you use the belt tensioner.

Shouldn't even need to install tensioner, belt is tight enough with 16T pulleys.

thanks Wills  memory a bit rough here, just measured, the 1150 I got in the wrong width is 5mm.

Hi WillyChang,

it's a TA03F.

On a side note, is that the purpose of the 16t pulley? to take out slack? I'v often wondered what benefit it offered as only other reference I have seen to it is mixing the 15t and 16t to alter the drive balance to the front or rear depending on your handling needs.

Cheers for all your input guys.

well, u can use it that way, if the belt is fresh. the centre belt, as it comes out of the bag, fits good over 16/16. Rather loose on 15/15.

but used in combination, u can alter the drive/torque biased to the front or rear. that's all.

03F uses 16/16 pulley

03R uses 15/15 pulley with same belt, as belt has to go 'over' the motor

You should never use differing sized pulleys unless you've got the oneway layshaft (aka Torque Splitter)

which allows the overrun... if you don't you'll be causing your transmission to mechanical-lock.

This causes drag inefficiencies, stretch the belt and cause unnecessary strain on your motor.

Torque splitter came with 15 & 17 pulleys in the kit.

Hi,

Just another quick q? on this, local bearing guy can only do the 1260 at 3.5 mm wide not 4mm, I should be able to shim this out right?

Cheers
