Motor For 1st Gen Ultima

Hi,

I have a LeMans 240ST which I'm planning to put in my Ultima. I would like to power it with the stock mechanical speedo. Do you think this will work or will I just cook the speedo?

The 240ST is only a 22 turn motor

The MSC would have no problem with it as Kyosho supplied that motor with that MSC in many of it's kits.

That's not a bad little motor. Make sure you lightly oil the bushings as they're probably old and they will screech like a nails on a chalkboard when dry.

Regardless of which motor you use all Kyosho's Mechanical Speed Controllers are all not durable, and will be damaged sooner than expected. Except the one that comes with the Raider.

Tamiya ones are far better.

Thanks guys! As this Ultima will be built totally stock (except for motor and ballraces) I will use the original Kyosho MSC. It will be run very rarely, maybe only once in a year so I'm pretty sure it will last a bit.
