Hi - looks like i will be back in the fold soon!! planning a Hornet purchase end of week [] and gonna get my TL01 Focus fixed up..

Anyway... these ESC's that come with kits now - anyone know will they run a sport tuned (not bothered about insane 3 turn motors [8)]) and is there gonnna be a SUMMER drive - anyone[?]

Hi there,

The TEU-101BK which comes with most of the kits has a 23 turn motor limit, so yes is okay with the RS540 Sport Tuned motor.

Sort of on this topic.. If the TEU-101BK has a 23 turn limit, can I use ANY 23 turn motor on it?

Long thread on this a while back - worth searching for.

Conclusion I think was that it worked for some and melted for others. Usual ESC tolerance - variable component quality probably.

Sport Tuned and TG are relatively milds motors, am sure some hot spec motors (even 27T) would, depending on the car and the gearing, bring the 101 to its limit, good thing though is that Hornet is light, 2WD, has low friction and traction.

thanks for info lads [8D] so the ESC would be OK with the Hornet and Sport Tuned what about with the Toureg that has 4WD and more traction and its heavier[?] suppose it would be OK if i am careful []

ESC is rated to a sport tuned so it shouldn't have a problem with a Touareg.
