Does anyone know why sometimes when I push forward on my controller, the car sometimes doesn't move? For example its basically as if the speed controller is not even plugged in, then a few moments later the car forward will work and the car will whizz off. Any ideas? The ESC is a Tamiya TEU that came with the car.

Many thanks

Any chance you've actually got it set up with reverse being forward and vice versa - sounds to me like the sort of behavior you might get where the delay is the ESC providing braking. Do you always get instant reverse in your current set up?

Yup, switch motor cables iirc. Had that problem with my new RS, had to double tap forwards to go forwards. Iswapped motor cables around and now it does it in reverse, which is great, cos reverse is for getting out of the poop only :D

Yes I always get instant reverse but not forwards. However it's not set up so that forwards is backwards etc?

But won't swapping the motor wires round just cause it to go backwards when I push forwards and vise versa?

I haven't got a Tamiya ESC handy to try it on, but if you swap over the motor wires AND find the servo reverse switch on your transmitter for channel 2 and switch that over I think you'll get everything working correctly again. You may need to re-set up the ESC again. It certainly sounds like your ESC is running the wrong way round so to speak!

Found the link I was looking for - TimeTunnelModels did a handy guide to setting up the Tamiya Teu-101bk ESC

I swapped my motor cables round and it goes in reverse fine, but stutters forwards, so my theory works :D

How bizzare! Thanks
