This is probably something very simple so I apologise in advance for asking, but I’m having problems with the electronics of a brand new TT01 kit that I’ve recently bought. This is my first attempt at building an RC car so please bear with me and bite your tongue if you feel like taking the mickey out of me.[;)]

The problem is that when I connect the ESC, Receiver, Servo and Motor nothing happens or at least nothing that would be considered useful anyway. The ESC’s LED flashes red and the ESC emits sharp beeps, the steering twitches and the motor makes fractional movements backwards and forwards.[8)]

Have I wired something up wrong or does anybody have any other suggestions?[8)]

Below is what I’ve wired up:

Acoms Receiver

Batt --> Nothing

Ch.2 --> ESC (Black/Red 2 pin connector)

Ch.1 --> Servo (Black/Yellow/Red 3 pin connector)

Motor

Yellow Wire --> ESC (Orange Wire)

Green Wire --> ESC (Blue Wire)

TEU-101BK

Blue Wire --> Motor (Green

Orange Wire --> Motor (Yellow)

Black/Red --> Battery

Black/Red --> on/off switch

Black/Red 2pin --> Acoms Receiver (Ch.2)

White/Black/Red 3 pin --> Nothing

Servo

Black/Yellow/Red --> Acoms Receiver (Ch.1)

I can post a picture later if it helps (or if anybodies interested). Thanks for any help.[:D]

have you pressed the reset button on the ESC if not then try that.Make sure both sticks are central before you do.

I think that your connections are not quite right. The 3 wire lead from the ESC needs to be plugged into the receiver Channel 2, not the 2 pin lead. (The ESC gets the receiver signal on the 3 wire lead).

I can't remember where the 2 wire red/black from the ESC goes, I would guess that it goes into the "Batt" on the receiver, via the switch. I'll take a look at the Gravel Hound when I get home and confirm this, unless anyone beats me to it [:D]

Stick the 2 pin plug into Batt on the reciever and the 3 pin plug into channel 2. There should be instructions that are on a sheet of paper in the ESC bag to help further.

Thanks again for all your suggestions. I've now plugged the 2 pin plug into Batt on the reciever and the 3 pin plug into channel 2. Now when I attach the battery and turn it on the LED on the esc continues to flash and it continues to emit short sharp beeps. When I turn the handset on, up and down (on the handset) makes the steering turn left and right and left and right (on the handset) does nothing. The motor and prop shaft moves fractionally left and right.

I'm struggling because I don't have the instructions for the ESC. They either came with the kit and I've misplaced them or they never came at all.

What you need to do is:- the lead which is going into CH2 (throttle) needs to be plugged into the other socket, and CH1 (steering) needs to be plugged into the other socket. (Switch the leads!) When this is sorted, try it again. If one of the channels is still playing you up, take the plug from the reciever, turn it 180deg. and try again. This is due to a fault on the new acoms recievers.

Hope it's soon sorted,

Sam

Never put a servo or ESC plug the wrong way around as it can only destroy the electronics!

Sounds like the channels have the wrong leads, as others have already stated. Switch them. If it still blinks and beeps and nothing works, take out the battery plug from the receiver, and turn it around and put it back in. It took me 30 minutes once to figure that out!

I have a TEU-101BK. I also have a TT01...It really does sound like the ESC just needs configuring. Hit the switch in the ESC in neutral position on the controller, then full forward [ till the beep ] then full reverse.

Vuala...If you have already done this then my apologies

Thanks for all the help fellas, I've finally got it sorted.

I had to trim a bit of the plastic from the grey 3 pin plug as it wouldn't fit into the Receiver. As I'm new to this I just assumed if it didn't fit it wasn't supposed to be there, but after I took the plunge and trimmed the plug it fit perfectly.

Thanks again.[:D]
