Hi all,

I'm looking to get one of these and wondered what TC members had to say about them. I have seen posts where members have 'borrowed' the wifes with good results but can't find them again with search so please post your thoughts/advice to help me make a decision.

Cheers

When combined with appropriate solvents they are a great tool.

I have a small one ideal for cleaning rc bits & other small parts.

I would never give mine up, but you do need somewhere to operate it away from people - the noise can be infuriating.

They're not the only cleaning tool you'd ever need though.

Had some good results cleaning both metal and plastic parts.

Wiped off excess dirt and used the Ultrasonic Cleaner to get rid of the ingrained dirt.

If you get a plastic one be careful using strong solvents. Empty the solvent out after use or it can melt the plastic.

I have not tried this one yet, but it was something Retro-RC (I think) had posted on another forum..

Glue a plastic Tupperware style container to an old fish tank aerator, put in the solvent of your choice and your parts and turn it on..

I also think that Retro-RC mentioned that he used Methylated spirits as the solvent..

Cheers..
