Does anyone know for sure if the wheelbase is longer?

Looking at the pictures, it could be the same wheelbase. The cab is definitely longer. The bonnet looks the same length as the F-350's and the cab certainly continues beond the length of the fords. But, the bed looks considerably shorter. The whee arches look a little smaller on the toyota too, giving the illusion that the truck is longer.

I hope i'm wrong though!

As Dready pointed out we were talking about it a month ago.

I think the website names written across the photos might give you a clue. :)

DUUUURR Sorry I written that last night after a few beers.

Nope. Not on my shopping list. Don't like the styling of the new 4WDs- too pretty.

They should be all straight lines, hard edges and look like bricks.... :D

Well I was thinking and since the wheel base is longer, I don't think it will make a good trail rig because it will get hung up on tree roots and rocks, (like my f350). And since the whell base is longer would it be possible to buy the body seperate and mount it to the existing toyota hilux highlift and/or f-350 high lift? I just don't think the wheelwells will match up....

It doesn't look very scale. Could be the tires, rims, and height. Hope tamiya makes some minor adjustment before release.

So just like all the others then?! Good starting point for scale builders though. Just with they would come up with something "european".

Like what? A Range Rover Highlift? :D I can't really imagine a typical european model that would be suitable for a highlift release... Or would you want them to make a body of some FWD SUV toy like the Chevrolet Captiva? To me, the only proper 'european' offroad cars are:

- Land Rover Defender, Crew Cab with rear bed or Crew Cab with metal top

- Suzuki SJ410, 413 and Samurai.

- Daihatsu Rocky LWB (It's Land Cruiser Based if I remember right, and I mean the one without the odd rear roof top).

- Mercedes G55

- Toyota Highlux, mid 90's and earlier releases (I heard from a friend they drive around a lot in Norway)

The Nissan patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser are also nice offroad cars you see in europe, but less european than the others somehow.

Do you not think a tooled up Nissan Patrol would look awesome? Or a UN Land Cruiser? No you're right... I'd prefer a "turda" Good choice tamiya, ignore me :D

I know that pic of the Rocky looks quite wrong... Mainly because of it's bordeaux red with silver two tone and the silly heightened roof on the back of the car... There's a rocky near my home. He has nice white lettered tires under it too. His car also hasn't got the best colour but the right roof shape. It looks very brutal, and like a small Nissan Patrol actually, since his version of the Rocky has way fatter wheel arches.

What tamiya misses in their highlift/offroad lineup at the moment are metal top and crew cab jeeps, they only have the Metaltop Wide Pajero. So a Nissan Patrol, Landcruiser, ed. would be very nice ;) And maybe tamiya should start producing 'cosmetic hop-ups' - Snorkel-like air intakes, roof racks, etc. etc. I think there's really a market for it, since there is a pretty large market for scale offroaders (Highlifts, XC's and scale crawlers).

Uhhmmm don't know really...at first i didn't like it, but then i started to like it a lot ( apart wheels and tires). The Tundra is a nice pick-up, I think, really "muscular"but i wuld be happier if the next High-lift will be a Dodge Ram (2009 model) or, my dream, an old Jeep Wagoneer (or Grand Wagoneer)! It's so cool!

Every highlift so far is high plastic, and with the amount of detail in it like it has it will be hard plastic

I hope so, the Tamiya page said Poly paint required..... Thanks
