the value of the car. I am in the process of painting my Isuzu Mu. I'd like to do it Porsche Boxter yellow, but the instruction give options as red, blue, and silver. What's you take?

I think you should paint it they way you like it.

You're kinda lucky with the Mu, because it is a very hot truck among 4WD rock-crawler people, in addition to collector people. The 4WD crowd won't care about the color too much (they'll probably cut the chassis apart to make it more off-road-worthy anyway). And, the solid body is simpler to stip of paint anyway.

If it was a SS or RR, I'd try to match one of the standard paint schemes.

I am a fan of painting how ever I darn well please. Since The Mu is a realistic truck. I would research Isuzu mu's to see what colors were available from the factory. Yellow wouldn't be my first choice but it would look nice.

I have a silver Beams Integra with only the basic stickers on it (no logos etc) and a blue/silver BMW mini with crazy stickers on it.

Somehow, I do not feel that my cars are worth less than if they were painted as Tamiya suggested. On the contrary, I have received many positive comments by fellow rc-drivers[;)][:)][^].

Dare to be different! Deviate from normality!!![^][^][^]

I think there are certain classic cars that just look so much better with the box-art, and they are rare, so it is worth following the box. Things like the SS,RR and also the 959 spring to mind. I do however like the cars with a twist - one TC member has his RR painted in the Rothmans 959 style... looks great!

But once you get onto the less rare cars, standard road cars, and the ones with average box art... my call is DO WHAT YOU WANT!

Ha ha! Cheers guys.

Think it needs to be "slammed" some more though, will have to get to work on those body posts!

Although it's a shame it doesn't look like that anymore... lol![:)]

I might buy a focus body paint it red and use some silver 16 spoke (o.z replica) wheels, make it look like the Focus RS Cosworth Concept from 2001. Nice car by the way. Needs lowered a wee bit, but tidy it is. I have a friend with a Evo 6 Tamiya body he painted it brilliant blue with silver 16 spoke wheels, and it looks like a road version Evo 6. I'd paint the body whatever colour u want. If u go fof a normal colour scheme the car never gets noticed, but dare to be different and it will get noticed, especially if its yellow. hehe,[;)][:D]

Thanx

I have the Ford Focus WRC '02 on the TL01 chassis and decided to paint it a dark metallic blue. Also got some gold aftermarket rims. Now it looks just like the new Focus RS in all the recent test drives on TV.

That's my Rough Rider. I love the rothmans livery as I have quite a few cars in my showroom with it. Funny thing is that I don't smoke.
