Hi all, i recently got this as an email, was very interested so i googled it for more info.

The facts are a little hazy, and theres doubt surrounding the story, but the one thing that is for sure, that is some collection of "toys"!!

The story goes a little like this.....

A recently retired New York man wanted to use his retirement funds wisely, so he decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal .

The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15 years; the owner and wife both had died and there were no heirs.

The estate was being sold to pay back taxes. There had been several lookers but the large barn had steel doors and they had been welded shut. No one wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway... so, no one made an offer on the place.

The New York gentleman bought it as is, paying just over half of the property's worth; moved in and set about to access the barn... curiosity was killing him.

So, he and his wife bought a generator and a couple of grinders... and cut thru the welds.

What was in the barn...?

Now THAT is what i call a retirement!!

Kind Regards

It's hilarious that they couldn't ID the Ford Model A!

And another event I imagine must have transpired if, in fact, they were discovered by accident is as follows:

"Man opens doors, surveys the scene of classic cars with building excitement, until he spies the mid 90's Volkswagon Jetta; 'How did that get in here!?!?'"

I noticed there were windows at the side of the barn and no one consider getting a ladder to have peek inside plus there looks to be some type of heating or ventilation system inside the barn. I would never use the same trustees or estate managment company or the bank that the properties were under their control. Just think the owner had the doors welded shut would mean something must be worthy inside else why go throught the hassle when either leave the door open or a simple pad lock will do. I guess the new owner effectively got the property for free now.... What an amazing find....
