Who Owns An R/c That Looks Like Their Real 1:1 Car?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering because I don't exactly get the love of scale R/C yet... I own a C5 corvette yet I havent felt the need to get an HPI body and re create it into an r/c, but I would like to make a Land Rover Discovery R/C to look like my truck(no one makes a body for that though :D ). I just dont favor on-road only R/C. So how many of you really drive a Hilux, or F350 on a 3" lift, or even maybe a mini cooper??? Show us pics of your R/C and your 1:1 that matches it

I own a Mk2 Escort and I'm yet to see a body of one available for an RC, the closest I have seen was a Mk1 Escort sedan and van.

Real car is a Honda Civic (Stolen Image from Internet). My Tamiya TB EVO IV MS is the 1:10 scale but with a much better paint job . I just need to trim the body posts !

Going to be hard finding the correct 9-spoke wheels though.

Cool pair BMT. Bet you get some comments when you pull the 'mini-me' Isuzu out of the 1:1.

I have mine in the works. Not an easy mod to turn a SWB Pajero into a LWB Pajero. It will get there. Rest of my cars (or my favourite 10) have never been decently done in 1:10. Some have been done but look nothing like the 1:1 (Kamtec Escort Mk1 as the perfect example).

Cheers, Mark

no-one makes a VW Lupo 1:10 bodyshell, so can't do my car. Have found a Lexan Nova shell that may fit on my mini chassis (says it will on the website), so can at least make something that resembles my first car!

You'll wonder why you ever had the ST170 after getting the ST2. I made the change, and so glad I did. Had my ST2 over a year now.

No, i cant say that i have made any of my 1:1 cars into RC, as they simply dont exist.

I drive a Toyota Carina E, and the closest resemblence sofar is the Toyota Toms Levin, and perhaps the 4-door version, (Toms-something), but i only have the Levin-shell sofar. :D

The second car is a Toyota Aygo, we just got a few months ago, but i HOPE its just a matter of time before a RC-body is available in that shape..

Third car is a 1967 Mustang convertible.. Apparantly, 67 Mustang convertibles are NOT made in ANY form yet, not even a 1/18 scale die-cast version, so no luck there either. B)

Love the MU 1 and 2, BMT: ;)

Cheers..

Michael

The only stumbling block to get past is a small thing called the wife  she has a fiesta ST.

im trying to justify it by saying its my turn for a new car and mine is 4 years old know :D woth a try.

I was considering doing an RC replica of my Focus when I had it (bright yellow ZX3 hatch) but I didn't like the 1:1 car enough to bother duplicating it.

Now that we've traded down to older, paid-for cars, it's a lot harder. I could replicate my wife's Nissan Pathfinder, but I'd spend almost as much on the vintage Kyosho shell as we did on the 1:1 truck. And even then it wouldn't quite match, since it's a four-door.

I don't expect anyone will ever make a 1989 Ford Probe shell, so I'm out of luck on that one.

@ Mark TA : Thanks. There is a LWB Pajero build going on at www.scale4x4rc.us by 635, if you are looking for inspiration. I actually had the little Mu before the big one popped up

@ rotor : Frewer does the current XR Falcon in 200m. Should be an easy one to do.

A week ago when I was at Hobby Habit I saw a BA Falcon body shell, even though I think it was a racecar version it wouldn't take much to turn it into your Falcon

I just need to change the rear window paint a bit, the model is a hard top version not the convertible and I didn't notice the slight difference until after I'd finished!
