you can get metal ones but then you break the body instead of the posts. think of them as insurance to save your body from damage.

Not quite my experience...

I changed to alloy and havn't broken any mounts nor body since. (running with a brushless novak 5800kv for more than a year now)

However, I agree that the body might get more scratches.

Think its too much?

It took my friend about an hour to make 4 on a CNC. The only way to make it less work and cut cost, is to produce a huge batch.

Strictly personal opinion here but, I doubt the market would be particularly large at that price, cut it by 40% say, & they'll sell in much larger numbers.

As for the time, it wouldn't take me much longer than that to produce a set of 4 with my non CNC stuff.

You're quite correct about high volume cutting per unit costs with CNC, this is where the proper economies of scale take over.

It's partly the fact that people who have invested in CNC equipment have to try & recoup their costs.

When I manufacture parts, I do it for fun as much as anything. If I were to charge even my flat hourly rate from my day job for parts they would be way too expensive for most people (not that I get paid a huge amount, but I do alright  ).

I have contacts with CNC capabilities, I'll get some pricing,

In the meantime, who'd be up for a set of alloy mounts at say 15 plus postage ?
