Besides RC what are your hobbies?

Recommended Posts

Personally I prefer 'sensibly riding' around the backroads - and a newer modern bike with modern suspension, brakes, tyres etc etc will always outdo a older bike.

Yeah, but that's not the point.

I recently came back from the 'ring, and while I was there I took a random out in my old 205. He had brought a year old Golf GTI down, which of course will set far quicker times than my car, but he said that he'd never had as much fun as in mine.

I went out in a brand new M3 last time I was there. It was blisteringly quick, clinical, but nowhere near as fun as the E30 M3 I went out in later that day.

I still quite enjoy throwing corpses.

Much better finding the half rotted ones to throw rather than the fresh ones as they are significantly lighter.....bit easier on the back now that I'm getting older. I realize thats cheating, but I don't do it professionally anymore so it doesn't matter!

I've got a 1500 point Space Marine army (Warhammer 40k) I just don't have the time to play it any more

I do skateboard, but not as much nowadays since I hate the skate scene.

Classic cars especially Fords?? No problem, I have 2 mk2 Escorts :-) Also got a Rover P6 with the V8 in it.

Other hobbies include slot cars, probably got around 100 in total, and playing bass guitar, and sometimes guitar.

Yeah, I've probably got around 100 slot cars. Favourties are the 1970's, and early 80's stuff like the BMW CSL's, Mk1 Escorts, Datsun 240Z, stuff like that. I also have a lot of the Scalextric American classic stuff, like the Camaro's, Mustang's, Ford Grand Torino... I've got a couple of Fly CSL's as well, but not totally impressed with those. The propshaft needs gluing in to stop it flying out (happened on both cars), and one of them the chassis started to melt from the heat of the motor!! I had only run it about three minutes.............

Did Jagermeister sponsered the Camero? seda or you just added the decals and paint?

Just purchased some helicopter software to see if I can learn how to fly them. If successful, helicopter will be within my cross hair  , if not I will stay with RC....cars, somthing not in the air. :P

No, there never was a Jager-Tonic Camaro as far as I know, I just like the Jager liveries!! Decals are made by DMC for an Alfa 155.

Yeah, I love the Scalextric Camaro's. One of mine I scratch built, with the body from the model kit, grille and working headlights from the Street Camaro. It also has modified axles so i could get the wheels and tyres from the black GT40 under the arches. They just about clear, and look awesome. I did have to skim the front tyres down a bit, as the diameter was a little too big.

These two will be taking up alot of my time soon. Obviously, more imortant things such as school and exams come first. Got my biology gcse in about 3 weeks, did my first mock yesterday and got an A which is a good sign. Did alot of revision so I hope I will enjoy restoring these bikes rather than be kicking myself if I fail.

Si, have you been out buying more cars...? <_<

I think I posted earlier on in this thread, but here goes anyway. My other non-RC hobbies are in no particular order:

- Cars (I'm a Ford fan. I have a Sierra RS500 Cosworth and have a Focus RSII on order).

- Flying (PPL is now lapsed since I moved to CH though).

- Cycling (Just got myself my first ever road bike).
