That's a nice Vauxhall fella! Cant say I've seen one of those before <_<

This RC hobby has gotten way out of hand, but my other hobbies (which I hardly have time for now because of Tamiya lol) are:

Driving/racing/fixing my Honda's

Playing guitar

Playstation/Sega/Atari etc

Drinking (more of a habit than a hobby, although I enjoy it haha)

I like to custom build cars. I'm not a professional or anything, and I do it on the cheap. Here's my 1957 Ford:

My 2001 TJ Wrangler:

And my current unfinished project, a 1964 baja bug. I think you know where I'm going with this one!

Tell the truth now. Is that your son with his arms around you? :) Somehow kids grow so big and we seem to shrink.

We have an inland quarry diving centre near us at Chepstow so its handy if i dont want to drive too far. Is there any good diving in north wales or quarrys around manchester? I need a 15ltr cylinder if you know of any in test for sale at a reasonable price as well ;)

I had a 3.1 s when i was 22 . Bought it brand new and collected in from the Cologne Ford factory in Germary . It was seriously quick but handled like a nightmare .

300 hp from a Capri! 'Wild' is a euphemism, no?

Anyways, among my hobbies and pastimes besides RC are:

-playing guitar

-drawing

-playing ice hockey (obligatory Canadian pastime)

Stock the Capri suspension is horrid. The modified Capri has upgraded sway bars, leaf springs, Koni shocks and upgraded brakes along with the engine modifications.

We never got the Essex motor Capris in the US. The last of the Capris came to the US in 77. Wish we would have seen the 2.8i. Recaros and Bilstein shocks....Mmmmmmm.

Well, my mild Capri is 100% stock. The wild one is a 100% not....That's about the extent of the euphemism..

My other hobby, dang, isnt as cool as some of these ive seen here, but here we go. I build StarWars Studio scale filming replicas...yeah yeah models if you will lol. Have been at it for a number of years, as models have always been a part of me.

Studio scale, well, it pretty much refers to an exact replica used by ILM back in the day, meaning dimensions, original donor kit parts, and even paint now and then has to be ID'd, and sourced, and finally applied, it takes a while.

Here is a few pics of a recent show we did with our Prop forum at the NEC Memorablia event, was our first UK show, and folk seemed to feed off of it, so this year, should be a lot bigger. Not all of these models are mine, three of us contributed to the studio scale section, were a rare breed here in the UK.

My recently completed Probe Droid, with stopmotion articulate arms.

LeesPD.jpg

Ill work on the other pics later, the pic album name seems to trigger a language filter, as its RPF UKPROPMEET.......only with now space between the f and the UK....lol, ill rename and post later.

Mainly just wrenching on this...

So much sweat, blood and tears went into this over the past years, I won't ever sell it. Especially as my dad used to own a stock one in the same color but lower spec 13 years ago when I was just 10 years old and back then I already swore I would one day own a BMW E36 3-series wagon in black myself. So I guess it'a a dream come true... come to think of it, back then I used to own a TA-02 with a Carson BMW E36 wagon shell! Too had I can't find one of these today...

But also other car related stuff like visiting shows, visiting race events (I live just an hour away from the Nürburgring) and so on... cars rule my life!

Also heavily into automotive photography. If you'd like, you can check out my shots on my flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bochmannphoto

Besides R/C, (Big hobby!) My hobbies are my Lotus Exige, and Hawaiian built Koa ukuleles purchased in Hawaii when I visit... (I have 10) And, home improvement is something that happens all the time. Dunno if it's a hobby, but I do it a lot!

Some wicked full-size cars in this thread! I will admit I thought that ukulele was an acoustic bass at first...

I used to draw and read a lot; now I just do that as part of my courses. I play ice hockey instead:

Figures; I was an oddball enough in my neighbourhood because I liked radio-controlled cars, so I had to be a goalie...

You guys play(ed) airsoft? I do too B)! Care to share what kind of gun you use(d) or what kind of games you play(ed) (CQB, woodland, etc)? I myself use a JG Steyr AUG with a UHC Colt Python as a sidearm. I play woodland.

A reply 4 years later...better late than never. Here, like else where, one can play CQB and / or shoot them up in the woods. Local airsoft gun shops here have week end meets for all comers or a gang of your buddies could get together.

I gave away all my airsoft, but bought all new ones . Right now I am eyeing the old Tommy Gun ( not sure for the army version or Al Capone version (drum with front grip) and the FMG (the one that folds up and fit into your back pocket)
