I thought I would entertain my TC friends with this.

Have a look at those 4 pictures from some Tamiya vintage RC catalogs and spot the major difference with what was found in the box..

There is one on each pictures and the first one who find them will win a new Yokomo pro stock 11 turn motor that I have no use for :)

Tempted?

Well have a go then:

By the way it is not as easy as a different colour on the body, not a black bumper either....unless you find a new one that I did not spot myself

The 4 pictures

Good luck vintage nuts !

Holiday Buggy: Black vs grey suspension parts

Hilux 4x4: Grey vs black front bumper mounts

RR: Chrome vs grey wheels

Super Champ: "FS" vs blank on the rear plate

Not bad guys !

Blacque Jacque got it first:

"Hehe, great idea.

OK, I think I've sussed it:

Holiday Buggy - Baja 500 decals instead of California and black suspension arms

Hilux - Transmission plug positions

Rough Rider - Large cutout on body around tube clamps / shock mount (and it has chrome wheels)

Super Champ - No FS on the rear plate.

Am I right ?

I reckon those photos are mostly prototypes.

Cheers, Russ. "

But on the hilux Bluefoot found a good one with the bumper parts not beeing black !

Only took you a few hours <_<

BJ please PM your address mate.

Yep, well spotted !

Jerome

I know the comp is over and well done Russ <_<

I also noticed on the Champ that the rear damper arm shafts are black anodised and not silver steel as they all are ;)

Also, I noticed the SC has different wheels... one has red and the other blue. Also, one has a clear tube from the damper to the reservoir, the other looks like a bit of old heatshrink <_<

Hello,,

Realy interesting to see these "mistakes" from Tamiya's catalogue..I do not have a photo in my laptop but if you also see the Sand Scorcher in the same catalogue next to the Orange RR you can notice the direction of tires is the wrong way..!! So all of us that have done the same mistake over and over again.. ^_^ We all are excused..! :)

I will try to post a photo so you can see...

Be cool... :)

Another funny thing, which might be a copyright-issue, and discussed here earlier is the fact, that on the Rough Rider car, the name on the side is, as we all know, Rob Mitchell Racing, but on close inspection, you will see that the name on the front of the car is NOT the same, but instead, Bob Maynard Racing. :) (This is easier to see if you have the catalogue at hand). ^_^

Cheers..

Michael
