I've found a motor case in my garage,

Its been at least 6 years since i used a modified motor but i have case with the following in:

2x LRP X generation

1x LRP X-T generation

1x Parma 40deg Stock Plus

1x Reedy Fury 12d

1x Fantom factory modified

1xKyosho Xpeed

1x unlabled Orion

Oh and i also found a purple canned, peak stickered 12*2 hanging out of the ******* end of a mardave ministock, running a 6 cell bodge conversion.

Is all this just junk or do people collect older motors?

I'm guessing they would have to be considerably older than that to be considered collectable. And even then most people collect NIB. At the moment you would do best to sell them along with the case. Some people love rebuilding old motors for their runners for cheap. Otherwise hang onto them and see what people say in another 13+ years... ;)

There is a market for older brushed motors. The prices fluctuate wildly for used examples but NIP motors can get a nice sum of money depending on the how desirable it is.

Only ones I've seen that are collectible are the Tamiya motors, especially the Dynatech 02H, Technigold, Technipower and Black Motors Endurance/Sprint, and the various Kyosho LeMans motors. Unused NIB, or lightly used with box bring the best prices.

Used motors aren't typically worth a lot - about the only ones that hold value used, are the ones that were 'standard equipment' for a kit, eg, Technigold, usually bought by people after one for their runner.

I sold a hand full of used kyosho leman's motors from the late 80's on ebay a good 4 months back and only got $50USD for 7 motors, but the used technigold on its own pulled $76USD without its box.
